Rea's strength knows no bounds. Though I'd like to feel sorry for the guys at the receiving end, they deserved it nonetheless. I wonder how Chihiro will fare against Rea's father, though, considering that they have to change certain details if they want the outcome of the battle between the two to be the same as in the manga.
And the intro was misleading once again. Blood dripping, yet without an actual casualty in sight, or even an explanation of who it was (though I don't think it could be anyone but Chihiro, especially not since we see 'him' walking to his home at the shrine). Funny how his dad doesn't realize Rea is eating poisonous leaves and merely thinks she's a vegetarian. I guess that's why he's not a botanist... Next episode seems to be all about Mero. And that is fine with me, as Mero looks like a very interesting character.

Meh , episode 8. I think it's the stupidest episode ever.
Well , the beginning look interresting , i thought this anime would be more serious but not.. stacking stupid fanservice, idiot scene like chihiro's "friend" , boring event... seriously , Rea is so boring and the connection between her & chihiro too... don't forget the "vegetarian" part... bleh.. finally his father is back. |

Last time, Rea's dad tried to neuter Furuya. This time, he renews his interest by kidnapping Furuya. What is his agenda this time? It seems they are going to introduce new character.
About Rea's strength, it is believe that the altering of certain part of brain will increase adrenaline. At least, it was what I read from some cheesy science fiction novels.

Rea is boring. Chihiro isn't. Put them together and they negates themselves. Moeblob result, you either like or hate. The vegetarian part... sigh. |

After last episode's extended focus on Ranko, the spotlight is back on Rea. I have to praise how faithful this episode is to its corresponding chapter, things happened the way I remembered them, with no major changes, just a few anime-original scenes that don't really change anything, but add more.
Seeing this part of the story get animated is nice, Rea gets to enjoy the normal act of shopping, Chihiro reveals his fear of haunted houses, and then we see the goons' comically foiled attempt at kidnapping Rea. Chihiro gets abducted instead. Looks like they're moving Mero's chapter earlier so this season (I want to be optimistic ) could end at a certain point.

The zombie aspect gives it the edge it needs to stand out among the many romance shows that are out there. The problem we have now is that this is a 1-cour show and a lot of crucial plot elements don't happen till much later, meaning that a lot of potential is wasted, because the producers are afraid to take risks. Had this been a 2-cour show, we would eventually see what consequences being a zombie truly hold for Rea, and how that affects the relationship between her and Chihiro. With all the manga chapters we have now (28 at this point), there would be plenty of material to fill 26 episodes, especially if they throw in some anime-origjnal filler in between. But, let's hope the sales will be worth it and/or the producers decide that a second season is needed.

The next episode will focus on Mero? Bah...
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for character development. But with such a small amount of remaining episodes, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't kind of disappointed. Especially after we just had Ranko's development episode. :/

Well, like I said, it's only 13 episodes, so they have to develop the characters as much as they can without ruining much of the story. They really should've gone for 2-cour if they wanted to do more, but since they didn't, they try to balance character development with plot development as much as they can. I personally don't give a rat's ass about Wanko and believe they could've easily left that episode out (as she never got this much attention in the manga), but I think Mero could use all the exposure she can get.
All I really hope for is that they don't make up some stupid original ending that leaves no room for more. While I don't expect this show become hugely successful, I do hope it brings in enough (either through DVD/BD sales or otherwise) to warrant more anime in the near future. If they stay reasonably faithful to the manga ad end it on a positive note, they could make it work.

It is kind of strange to have a side story in the middle of all the action last week. I can't actually place where this story is. It could be before the last episode, or it could be much further in the future.
Well, it was a really excellent episode, even if it was a side story. It was much better than the Ranko one. Mero story actually has somewhat of a plot relations. It is confirmed that Mero's mom was a zombie, although stating by the fact that she died, things did not completely work out. So the question now is, was Mero's mom a zombie before or after she gave birth? My guess is she became one after, since I can't imagine a zombie creating life when it does not have one itself.
