Kind of sad how Rider decided to save Ionioi Hetairoi for Gilgamesh, which was blown away while charging. But Gilgamesh did have a change of heart, he acknowledged Rider and Waver's resolve .

How did Berserker get firearms in Japan? provided by Zoken or stolen from somewhere?
Kirei gave it to him, (Executor from church = unlimited funds for firearms)

This was absolutely amazing. The dialogue, the action, the captivating visuals... Everything.... Thank you Ufotable, thank you for ridding us of shitty DEEN adaptions.

I was unfortunately spoiled on the Lancelot reveal myself, so it didn't quite have the shock value I would have liked otherwise. Still Saber's despair in this scene palpable. Interested in how this fight will conclude exactly.

The dialogue between Gil and Rider was fantastic. Gil had an admiring respect for his foe, something he pretty much got out of everybody. There were so many indications here of it, but I think the ultimate one was when he basically "gifted" him the pleasure of enjoying the world forever. They could have been friends if were not for Enkidu. He also ended up sparing Waver's life which was great to see.

Very much looking forward to next week .

Alexander has a divinity status because he claimed to be the son of Zeus and that's what his followers believed, and belief is power in Fate. Looks like that came back to bite him here

Son of Zeus to the Greeks and Son of Ra to the Egyptians.

Rider is the only worthy rival for Gilgamesh. Even Nasu says so.

Obviously, anyone (save, maybe Enkidu who is his companion, no rival) would die instantly against a serious Gilgamesh as he faced Rider on this episode. That Rider survived that and almost killed him (if the blow wasn't stopped) while his spirit remained undefeated by achieving his dream regardless (he found his beloved Oceanus) made him admirable in Gilgamesh's eyes.

He was a knight over a lake in the first ED and has a bone to pick with Saber. He uses any weapons and can disguise himself (abilities Lancelot has).

Splendid performance Rider put on during the entire episode. If there was an Academy Award for best/supporting actor, he'd totally get my vote because he was a proud noble warrior, leader, king, and most importantly, a great friend during his last and final moments.

You've fought well King of Conquerors, I salute you and manly tears were shed. Great performance from a truly amazing character.

Rider says "my heart danced..", does that mean he was afraid during the fight?

No I said it was not obvious to me why he would be the one to become Berserk based on the original legend; not that he was Lancelot. But I read why in the Type Moon Wiki and I guess I am okay with the explanation.

As for Berserker being Lancelot, I said I should have seen it coming but I did not notice him in the first ending. Personally the only stills that I really recall from that ending are Saber, Lancer, & Caster.

So that's three times Rider lost because his charge took too long. Against Saber, in the marble against Gil, and out of the marble.

Gil surprised me. I actually got a kingly vibe when he was judging Waver. With everyone else it comes off as arrogance. But Waver places himself as an inferior and a subject so Gil feels legitimately kingly facing him.

I will say that Gilgamesh kind of made the whole thing boring with just destroying the field. Was really hoping for a huge battle of massive army vs a ton of weapons. Instead just cut that short.

Otherwise though I quite enjoyed it. Watching Rider and Gilgamesh was pretty fun. Two impressive guys who started the battle with a drink and ended with some good words. Hardly the cruelest way that Gilgamesh has ever finished things and ending it with some of his most precious weapons says quite a bit. Does show how insanely tough it is to go up against Gilgamesh since he can just keep pulling so many random weapons. Both guys had respect for each other at the end. Rider going for an alliance (and not trying to recruit Gilgamesh for the army) and everything that Gilgamesh said at the end. While they had different views on just about everything certainly acknowledged each other.

Will say glad Waver is walking away form this (so far). Has gained a lot from this war and grown immensely. Also has quite the gig lined up in Rider's army when he eventually dies . Certainly fits Waver becoming a subject since he's learned a lot and followed Rider to this point. At least he's a much better person at the end of this fight.

Of course not at all surprised about Lancelot being Berserker. I pretty much predicted it from the original ED so it's been a long wait for them to just admit it. With the tales of Lancelot not surprised he could turn into a Berserker here and this should be one hell of a fight if Lancelot's skill with that sword play out. Even worse with Saber's unsettled state this could get rough.

More like Kirei overtook his father's "business" as the Grail Supervisor. Meaning t÷ons of funds and connections to ship weapons.
I mean just remember those two fighter jets against Caster's monster. Those were sent by Risei's order.

Technically, Kirei lost his Servant and already out of the war.
Who in his right mind would expect Kirei gained a whole new set of Command Spells and what more, made contract with the strongest Servant?

Certainly no one in a war without proper supervisor.

When Gilgamesh respects you, he never fools around. The only way to win against him is to resort on his Arrogance EX. If Worthy Foe Appears, it cancels it.

This is why Nasu said he could have ended the wars in the first day or two, had he wanted to.

Iskander could have actually won that battle if he really wanted to.

He could have just used Ionian Heitaori and surrounded Gil with his army (As mentioned earlier, Rider can freely arrange where everyone appears within the Reality Marble).

Of course he respected Gil too much to beat him with such a tactic.
