Oh wasn't that just a daft story, I mean I know when I'm supposed to get weird and wonderful but that I felt was supposed to be kinda serious n' all but I just couldn't take it as so.

If blood-related, no.

Japanese Civil Code Article 734:

Lineal relatives by blood, collateral relatives within the third degree of kinship by blood, may not marry, except between an adopted child and his/her collateral relatives by blood through adoption.
- By Article 893, even if relative relations are finished, law still applies.

An aunt is a third degree of kinship.
