I am visiting a country where the best cheap internet connection so far is a USB HSDPA modem, when i check connection speeds it can get up to 256kbps,

How do Optimize utorrent to best work in these conditions. the most beed i've even gotten downloading is 27kpbs?

onces the connection speed got to 1mbps, Is there anyway to unlock that speed.....

You can use Facebook with it, but downloading.... really hard.

When you're going to DL things through wireless HSDPA modems, trust me, it's going to be bloody slow, disruptions and some disconnections, even if they're advertising fast speeds.

Is it 256 kilo bits per second (kbps) and 27 kilo Bytes per second (kBps). FYI 1 Byte of is made of 8 bits. And 256 kbps converts to 32 kBps. IIRC 27 kBps is just about the practical max speed of a 256 kbps connection, which should get you about 112 MB per hour.

thank you just realized that a while ago

there is not much i can do. company is purposely limiting speed. once i was able to get to 700Kbps to 1Mbps.

In other words, the mobile service has probably put on download caps and limiters to prevent overuse of the network.

I have been using 3g net for years. You better limit the global connections to 40-50 max. The upload speed to 80% of the max upload else it will choke the download.
As for the speed it depends on the ISP. Mine does traffic shaping T_T

I use Globe's HSDPA broadband stick and I can download torrents at 400kbps during the night.

I wonder if there is a way to hack or unlock their bandwidth Cap. I mean it just isn't fair

surprisingly with a lot of patience I do manage to download some movies. and 700MB movie takes any where between 8-14 hours. the key is not thinking about it. I'd look into satellite services but they are some damn expensive.
