I'm not shocked, but I'll be surprised if it really goes anywhere between her and Tigra. I liked the twist that Lion-o was betraying himself (since he simply assumed too much), and that will of course keep the conflict between the brothers going. On the other hand, both of them have pridefully boasted about her as if she were some kind of possession, and that won't bode well either. Tigra may have scored early points because of his actions as a cub, but he's far too jealous and insecure. I think despite her words to Tigra both brothers stand a chance....if they can get over themselves.

Oh well. At least they have arms.

Eh, the writing thus far hasn't been very deep or complex. They'll have a decent relationship. I really don't think the writing staff is up to making this relationship complex, or having them permanently break up.

And I suppose they were foreshadowing with Pumyra earlier (for those who don't know who the puma chick was in the "flashback." I have a feeling she'll show up again. Pumyra was one of the 3 additional thundercats that showed up later in the original series, along with Lynx-O and Ben-Gali.

And personally, the whole shipping and romance thing in a thundercats series just kinda rubs me the wrong way. I don't have anything against furries, and I suppose it's natural that a society such as that would have relationships and such, but I can't help but feel that it's an aspect that's not needed.

Overall, I have to say I'm not quite impressed with the series. The writing is a bit inconsistent and too based on the plot forcing the characters, rather than the characters driving the plot. Too many tired and bored cliches.

And it's not that I feel the original series was any better; I know how cheesy it was. But it was right for it's time. Perhaps I've just grown up more, and now demand better from my stories, because I've watched stories that have been good (Avatar: The Last Airbender, for instance). The old Thundercats was simple. This new series is still simple, although it tries to fake being complex.

Well, the fandom's torn apart and some Tygra fans on TCL are not being nice to people that offer opinions that are different than theirs. And the Triangle, which i think was stupid now, since Cheetara loved Tygra for helping her become a cleric by giving her a flower, and wasn't even interested in Lion-o. Don't buy the "she's shy/she repressed her feelings for Tygra" excuse. Shy girls don't act the way she did, all the handholding, kiss on the cheek, and if she had repressed her feelings she wouldn't have kept the heart of the flower or confessed.

Good news guys, Pumyra is officialy in the new series.

So I just watched the season finale. That was quite a shock what they did with Pumyra. Lion-O will always be shafted in the romance department, isn't he?

Of course they will probably turn this around somehow in the next season, but for now, season breaks equals Lion-O broken heart.
