Dunno I myself dropped OP at the "Big wall prison, save the black haired girl arc", frankly I may pick it up in the future, maybe even read it from the start. But as it is now I don't find any initiative to do so. Same for fairy tail, even though those stories are great with a well thought plot, the art just kicks me back each and every time.

Beelzebub, Sket Dance, One Piece should be going strong!

Iono about Toriko, its really hot on the manga sites, but the cross over between OP and Toriko didn't entice me

You guys think Nisekoi has established itself as solid mid-ranking (with occasional jump to Top 3) Jump title?

I am not a fan, but I believe so. It should rank in the mid ranges. All I have to say is, there no good competition for it currently.

I cannot remember any other worthy romance manga in jump. So it kinda holds its niche. What's left is romance fans to put their vote on it rather than big trio or some other title.

The what, the arc and the one after the arc proceeding it are some of the best ones and I'll tell you this now fairy tails plot is mediocre.

I still don't quite get why this manga ranks so well, it's a romance slice of life that rarely does well in jump, which is typically dominated by gag and mostly action manga, and the plot like general with these sorts of manga isn't that great. What am I missing.

I think this manga somehow captured the romance niche and also niche that some slice of life mangas of the Jump. Sket Dance used to rank much higher until Nisekoi came on. Maybe it even got some votes of Bakuman niche.

Bakuman was boring. At first I was interested in the mangaka world but around the time when they were getting to pcp anime I dropped it. Seriously the drawing main character and his gf were to dumb for me, they behaved like some kind of saint freaks, who couldn't even speak properly over the phone. I don't think I will even finish Bakuman, it probably ended in some stupid way, not to mention the retarded rivalries against other mangakas, where plot just went wtf.

As for Nisekoi, its cliche but it hits the right spots. It gives me the feeling of old romance mangas. So its the old good titles feeling with new age art. Just the right thing.
It isn't some kind of super high plot, but its a good romance with likeable main cast. Which I cannot say about most of the other popular romances lately (GE/KNIM for example)

I didn't read GE but I heard it was worse than KNIM (which I found to be very, very deplorable to say the least).

I doubt that. Whoever told you KNIM is better than GE is lying to your face or just plain obsessive with girls that drawn well with big knockers and ass (very important, big ass -> $ Seo loves).

No, the statement that was told was probably GE worse than KNIM, not KNIM better than GE!

I know worse and better are kindah opposites but let's not consider in this case, that one could inverse it that easily!

And I hardly consider KNIM to be any good tbh.

I actually like this series. Fun to read. Though it did use the same idea as Love-Hina, where there was a "second girl" during MC's childhood......

I didn't think that a romance manga would be doing good in WSJ and though this is the first time, I am checking the rankings, while reading the recent chapters, I had a feeling that the romance or the plot, is going too fast. Feels like, this was not made with the intention to last long, in my opinion.

Short or long, I think high rankings is a positive surprise!

I rather take 50 chapters short romance story (it can easily get to 50 chapters) than something drawn out like Pastel, knim and so on.

That's no wonder since they state that it's a popular manga in one chapter's front page. I guess people got bored of long and complex romance story and want something much simpler but fun to read.
