It's been confirmed that they'll be making an appearance. And it should be any time now. Kubo's supposedly already worked on their character designs. And this is definitely the event he spoke of that will force them to finally get off their lazy asses.

Yeah. I'm kind of hoping Yamamoto's teacher is present among the Zero Division--a shingami so old, he can't even walk anymore, but yet so powerful, that he can literally pwn everyone from his wheelchair with his reiatsu alone. In fact, I think it would be kind of cool if all the fighting taking place in the seireitei came to a grinding halt as some kind of massive wave of spiritual energy KO's the fodder and forces everyone relevant down to their knees (including Yamamoto) simultaneously.

I'm still on for hijacking this series if Kubo butchers it like he has in the past. I'm being patient with these new chapters though. Things seem sort of promising. I'll see where he takes it before Twitter stalking him and abducting him

^ I'm going with the name change assumption for now, too and if it turns out to go in the Shiba direction it wouldn't be too surprising - awesome chance for Kubo to retcon in some plot connection (in fact on this one I would even give him the benefit of the doubt that at SSarc time there was some concept for that in the drawer, it was hinted quite a few times after all)

Remembering the chapter 397, I wonder if Aizen foresaw current events, when developing Ichigo I can go as far as assuming that Aizen knowingly destroyed Cleaner to let him train and develop further, as it was mentioned by few other people, before. Then use FGT to defeat him, since Aizen definitely knew about Fullbringers, together with rest of SS, and possibly knew about FGT.
+ Aizen sentence of "You're son of a shinigami and a ". Combine that with what ppl here said about who Ichigo's mother can be. (although ye, there was a confusion with 2 different phrases in 2 chapters.) Guess there's a very good chance of seeing more "Just as planned" moments in the future.... and then we end up with Aizen being Spirit king's agent or being manipulated by "it", that saw what was coming and decided to prepare. (after all, Quincies with their ability and goals are an ultimate threat to Spirit world) Aizen didn't look too frustrated when he was sentenced to 20k years. ![]() But I guess it's just my imagination.
