That aside, I'm totally digging how Marika ran the battle; general objectives, coordination of everyone to allow concentration of force, and some handy tactical rock-paper-scissors. Reminds me of the old adage to never recycle plans; Quartz came in expecting to do the same thing with more gun, but got schooled by people who went after her weaknesses. It's a whole different ball game from ambushing solo pirates who have no idea what you can do, and going up against a fleet that's prepared to fight you and know what you're doing.

Also, really digging Marika's latex space suit. Yum. Surprisingly, I got a strong Zeon vibe from it, not GokaiRed. Also, the bicorne on top of the helmet was a nice touch.

Also, it appears that Marika's magnetism causes even Quartz to look her over.

I see no problems with Gonzaemon being Ironbeard, and it looks like the other two girls flanking Jenny at the end were from the old Yacht Club? Also, totally digging Jenny's uniform.

...given that Fairy Jane has apparently bought up Odette II from Hukouh, I am now quite worried for everyone around Jenny.

Great end to a wonderful series. Now that it's all compiled, time to watch it again.

Man, can't believe that six months of regularly following a series have come to an end...

Jenny didn't buy Odette II from Hukouh, but only to deliver it back and for students to focus on thier exams.

Quick taxis service for the students was provided by Parabellum i.e. "Get the Odette II's crew home before thier exams."

As for the series as a whole, well done. Now here is a last episode for this spring season that didn't end in a disappointment or was underwhelm.

Actually, someone mentioned on this thread. Even shows with lower sales have gone on for a Season 2.

Also. Given all the time spent on the setting of this series. And the overall set up of the show. They could really milk the heck out of this franchise, if they want to.

If only this had K-on level sales. That'll show that Non-Mecha Sci-fi do stand a chance. Even if, of course, the Grand Cross looks like a Warship Size Mecha (with the Maneuverability of one) with a Capital Ship level of firepower.

Gonzaemon should be a bigger dork, to match his daughter. It's probably the mask that forces him to be so serious... he must be character.

It's kind of rare for a 26 episode anime series to get second 26 episode season if it doesn't happen within the first year. I can only think of Code Geass, Big O, and Inuyasha.

I can't remember many anime with direct sequel second seasons with all the same characters that were produced years after the original.

There are tons of anime with spin off series. There is that Railgun series that has a spinoff peppered in between seasons.

They went through all that trouble with techno babble and setting their universe. I wouldn't like it abandoned just like that.

That said, Satelight really likes these scifi stuff. Hopefully they'd use Moretsu as their "flagship anime" and keep running sequels. After all, they seemed to have made LagRin somewhat shorter-lived than Moretsu.

Very exciting final. Plenty of actions and pirates doing actual pirating. The battle was tremendously entertaining. I didn't expect it to be so one-sided though. The pirates totally raped the Grand Cross(es). Sure, it wasn't as easy as they made it look, but still.

Marika's spacesuit was hawt and very cool looking. She reminded me of Emeraldas. I've got to say she's got some very nice proportions. Now I'm dying to see Chiaki wear something similar...

Ironbeard being Gonzaemon was meh. I found it odd Gruier knew of his true identity when the Bentenmaru's crew was seemingly oblivious to it. This revelation raises a lot more questions, which I guess will be answered in the movie. Speaking of which, the movie format is not very appropriate to Mouretsu's style of storytelling. It will have a very different feel from the series.

Since watching this series, i love it. It's got an old-school feel, two great characters that i like (Marika and Chiaki OTP!), a wonderful cast, an amazing universe and some great comedy and action.

I give this a 10 out of 10!

Enjoyed the ending, great battle. A bit worried about the after-effects of those small changes but hopefully they will work something out. I'm curious to see what they are going to do for the movie.

On that note - is there anyone here who might be able to help expand it? At the moment there isn't much on it. I've added a number of pages however I've only done the basic framework and not the main text - I'm not particularly confident that what I write would be good enough (I'm not sure I have a good enough grasp to tackle personality and the like), plus I'm a slow writer.
