Shinpachi's likely the one to deal the final blow though, and that moment's going to be really heart-wrenching. Heck, based on this latest development we might even get a Gin vs. Shin battle in the future.

The part where Otae bowed down to Gintoki is already heart wrenching enough for me ;_;

Gintoki begged the Shinsengumi to wait while he somehow restores Obi-One's consciousness from Kenofi (Kenofi is the robot half).
Meanwhile, Kondou and Kyuubee infiltrate the mothership . They want to stop the beam cannon from the mothership while Kenofi is preoccupied.
It is revealed, however, that the beam cannon cannot be stopped and Obi-One's consciousness cannot be restored.
Meanwhile still, Shinpachi finds out that Gintoki went as far as bowing his head and begging in order to save Obi-One. That's partially why he cut off Kenofi's arm to save Gintoki.
Again, Gintoki in this arc reminds me of Jirochou. They don't mind playing the bad guy in order to save everyone. T_T
