What he actually was I don't know, were we ever told if he or Sumika were actually soldiers.

Ah so the his history is something like this?

..I was under impression that he and Sumika got caught when they were little, but I guess I was wrong

Thats a good question, since the Yokohama hive was supposed to be after 1997...isit? (All I know it was take back in 1999.) All male citizens should have been conscripted by then. Going to assume they were all on the original Yokohama base like the PX lady. Still doesn't explain why the other girls don't recognize him again later though, since some of them should have known him for a few years.

I think that's the only logical solution Sumika might've just been a civilian, but Takeru is probably a honor guard there when he was caught. Still doesn't really explain his blank look there in that CG I thought he appeared like that because of Sumika

I haven't actually played Chronicles but do we know WHEN that image was?

I mean, even if we assume Takeru died before the Operation to take back the Mainland or even in that time, he would have been even younger than his Extra self.

Personally I don't see him as an Honour Guard. My opinion is that perhaps he was an ordinary soldier who was station at Yokohama with Sumika and were captured when it fell.

Wait for Silvance, he'll clear it up for us. XD

Still, I wonder how he got out of the UN forces into the Imperial defense force. Maybe something to do with Takemikazuchi. Yuuhi is still empress, but why he is with the plotters we shall have to see.

How can inert materials create giga-joules of coherent light energy, nuclear fission, and 100,000 tons machinery? If its possible for us to create it, its possible for it to be created biologically. Its all from the same basic building blocks in the beginning. The universe is large and strange. Look at humans for example.

As for natural phenomena, referring from the NASA hand book of "bad things to encounter in space", a comet storm would be worst than 36mm depleted uranium rounds, and planets which are close to the sun or are young/old and unstable would have the energy effects of a nuclear explosion upon their surface on a constant occurrence. Planetary bodies with lower atmospheric content than earth would have constant bombardment by meteors, each would have the energy of a multi kilo ton nuke.

If I were to use Von Neumann's plan and send out self-replicating space probes, i would definitely include plans for worst case scenarios, and give the AI adaptive behavior programming against what they might encounter, with an exclusion critirial that it is not to recognize itself as an living intelligent being, according to one of the theories that an living being has to be
1) Self-sufficient,
2) Self-replicating,
3) Self-aware.
This is to prevent an Terminator scenario where the machines think they are alive and are self-aware. Too bad for any intelligent crystals they might encounter, we need our jewelry and computer parts.

Now swap that around and you get BETAs... which have traveled across space for an untold amount of time, quite possibly outliving their creators.

Comparing a human body to a circuit board they are tracing which command stimulation gives the best feedback. Whether its to make humans more compliant to being processed, or to make them slaves, I have no idea. On Sumika, they were testing pleasure centers as a form of mind control (of course scripted by the writer for the ero part of the story)

Think of it as the alien anal probe... Human experimentation.

Nope, its at the end of TDA (The Day After) ep02, as in after Unlimited, Alternative V takes place and world wide use of G-Bombs are used on the Hives.

Unlimited and Alternative are two separate series of events running in parallel worlds. Its an alternate universe.

The BETA don't see us as living beings right? However, we're a lot more adaptive than some mere inert resources, any logical sentient would eventually conclude we are living beings. But the BETA are explicitly programmed not to do that, so they make the closest inference; we're robots just like them.

The tentacle rape? That's them probing our nervous system; in the same way we run a diagnosis on our computers. The BETA are basically trying to find out a way to hack into us. It's only our misfortune that some of our inputs have a specific requirement to activate.

AND the fact that she is the only one who SURVIVES the process is even more horrifying

Even with the original hive destroyed, she still said something like that What do you think will happen in the future? For me, the future is still bleak

To answer both, it was stated in ML:Chronicles 3 that BETA are reusing biologicals to create more of themselves. Which is why there is a public censorship on what the BETA looks like. So yes, humans are being harvested, being the most numerous resource on earth.

For the Brain tube thing, its the end point of the experiment, where direct impulse to the pleasure points on the spinal cord is used, instead of physically pleasuring the body. The thing is, this would cause total sensory deprivation, in which no sense of Touch, Smell, Sound, Taste, Sight. Humans have gone mad in a Sensory deprivation room after less then a week. It can only be imagined how bad it is to be disassociated from a body...

Sumika survived by direct force of will (or as a plot mechanism), only thinking about Tareku the whole time, to the point that at the time of the G-Bomb attack on Yokohama hive, the time-space interference caused by the attack allowed her to call to another world's Takeru. Which is how the how thing started.

The scene where Takeru shows up in TDA is during the epilogue of TDA02. This is the same Takeru that we're familiar with since the first day of Unlimited. As for the original Takeru of the war-torn world, we do not know his rank at all in the military.

UN was dissolved. It was not revealed how Takeru ended up with the imperial royal guards, and not the imperial army. Age decided to save the juicy part for the next episode. However, it's very likely due to his connection with Yuuko and being nurtured by her. Seijuro's older brother knew about it, and when he made such statement, the scene changed to Takeru immediately. Oh, and Yuuhi is not the empress, she's the Shogun.

Not sure which Unlimited ending this one follows, but TDA branch could be the continuation of Yuuko end or Meiya's normal end. As for the 00R... Shogun made an implication that it's no longer within her reach.

"Please watch over me, Takeru... I will never give up..."

Was her last line for TDA02, and then at the epiloge, Takeru shows up in his black konoe uniform.He should be called Kurogane Takeru from here on imo. lol.

Great, thanks for the translation. I can only understand like 50% without the machine translations. The UN dissolving would explain how he got out.

So as far as the 00R's (and maybe Meiya) fate, it could mean they are no longer part of Japan's forces, or destroyed. Will wait to see what ep3 covers.

Not sure how close Yuuhi and Takeru would have gotten, to the point she can say that, as the events in MLA have not occured. One way is that something almost the same happened, and she got to know him. The other way... well, i always had my suspicions after the decoy thing in the Coup de'ta, if you see what i mean.

And yes, Kuro Takeru lol. Or Emokeru.
