Just watched this. It seems similar in concept to but far better than Gunparade March, though the latter has an undeniably cooler name. There are a bunch of things that seem suspect to me (like the Soviets' inability to use nuclear weapons in anything other than an airborne role, let's face it, this is the country that had the biggest stockpile of the things) in terms of the plot, but at least they make an effort to explain it at all, as well as showing the effects of the war on Japan. The standard of living prior to the invasion seems a bit too high, however, you'd think they'd be spending all that metal for weapons and supplies rather than consumer items like cars.

I just watched the first 3 episodes and it's actually pretty good. Episode 2 was pretty surprising as I didn't expect so many people dying. Looking forward in watching the rest of the series.

I'm certain the one who made the narration regarding the Project Prominence in episode 3 was none other than Nakahara, Mai.

Wow, they really do have similar voices then since I'm playing the VN alongside the anime and keep hearing their voices. xDDD

Still for some reason I've started to prefer Yuuya Bridges as a protagonist than Shirogane Takeru. But eh...personal preferences I guess.

Takeru is your generic idiot hero harem protagonist.

Whereas Yuuya is essentially a combined expy of Maverick and Isamu Dyson. ;D

Yuuya should be called Mabu-Rikku from here on then. It's unfair everyone has a nickname and he doesn't.

The only Maverick callsign person I think is really good is Christopher Blair from the Wing Commander series, or callsign Heart of the Tiger.

So Australian and Oceanian TSFs helped them?

it's pretty clever to help other countries in this universe, that wat you keep the fight outside of your borders while having the option of bombing the [expletive] out of the betas without having to worry about your terrytory.

If anyone's interested, you can now get a PDF of the "Daily Sports" fake newspaper they were handing out in Akiba to promote the TE anime.

Well I've spent about the past week trying to figure out what the hell Muv-Luv is supposed to be about, since transition between the second and third episodes of Total Eclipse did some timeskip-y stuff that would make a Gundam AGE writer say "haha wow that was pretty fucking bad" and it left me thoroughly confused. After careful research and questioning all parties involved, I've come to the conclusion that

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...oftheheart.jpg

Muv-Luv fans don't know what Muv-Luv is about.

Guess I'll just be dropping this, then. Oh well. At least I got some new fanfics out of it.

They are quite correct though that Total Eclipse is about TSF Development. The Anime is an inducement for people to try the original Alternative Visual Novel. That's why fans are hyping up Total Eclipse, to push for an anime adaptation of Takeru's neverending travels. Heh

And I agree, the BETA's are quite capable even though they're miners LOL.
