Well, the equipment remained standing so those owners are still alive imo. When you die, your equipment goes with you.

I'll agree that this episode felt rushed.

But it did succeed in making me feel that the death of Moonlight Black Cats had great meaning to Kirito's life, especially Sachi's. The last scene was done really well.

In the end, isn't that the most important thing?

I suppose I have to agree that the key elements here went by pretty quickly, but I thought they had their effect.

This is not a kind if anime I normally watch, but this is a very well made show. The MC is worthy, and Hayami Saori was outstanding as Sachi: she got across the sympathetic weakness of the character very well, matching the animation.

To save this thread from any more repetitive wall of text, I will just say I generally agree with what Klashikari said

While I do agree with this statement wholeheartly , don't forget that the bottomline is as long as it's good, nobody will complain.
Who care if a bunch of plots get cut off if the remain story is tight neatly. Who care if they add in some filler scenes if the stuffs is awesome.
Unfortunately, that is not the case here for me.

Yes, there will alway be complains because you can't please everyone and what is considered good is valiant from person to person.
But, the chant about "All who complaint are only those LN readers" and "All they want are just to adapt everthing into anime" is simply inaccurate.
Not all LN readers are unhappy about this episode (you should know the best ).
Many anime viewer also expressed the same concerns as well.
Lastly, particular person may have particular scene they want to be adapt into anime
but none of us ever stated that we want EVERYTHING to be put in .

After back reading several pages, when you talk about "A minor character that make you attached in just one episode before scewed them off", one anime come to my mind. Garei-Zero's first episode's 4th mobile squad (or whatever their team name is)

They never even think about that or there would be OVA something to be released after SoA tv series have ended. Too much floor skipping seems sad.

Maybe after clearing the top tower, the dev comes out and says "I actually meant you should have cleared the bottom basement" and starts a descent till B100

Well, even with 1/3 of the game cleared, the remaining floors should be more than enough for the season, assuming they take it easy on the time skips...although this isn't so bad either.

say why are people keeping all the exp, tricks and stuffs to themselves when they are all trying to clear this game? They can just bring 12000 people and zerg every floor boss since they only need to kill the last boss once and all players will escape this death game. I am pretty sure that 12000 arrows are enough to 1 hit k-o the last boss.

I think this is why we have the beta testers vs. newbies conflict.

Basically, the narrative has to provide some reason why players aren't doing what you suggested (since that would make the most sense), and the beta tester/newbie conflict provides such a reason. It's execution has been a bit off for me, but I can definitely see why they went with it.

Otherwise, you would expect the people left after the initial first month of panic-based craziness, to come together and work almost like a well-oiled army dedicated to the same goal.

SAO has no ranged weapons, there are no bows and arrows. Also, I doubt you could fit thousands of people into the boss room.

If SAO did have high damage ranged attacks, I'm sure we would have seen them in the first floor boss battle. Clearly only a limited number of players can be attacking the boss with swords at any given time.

Also, someone needs to stand in front. Even if the boss dies in two seconds, a zerging strategy like that would lead to everyone being greatly underleveled. What if he has an AOE attack that wipes out the front lines? Who's going to volunteer for that? What if the boss has an invincible phase that they have to survive before they can hurt him? What if he has a damage aura that kills everyone at once because they don't have enough HP?

You haven't thought this plan through at all. From an MMO perspective, it makes no sense.

Edit: Oh yeah, they already told us that there's a maximum size for a raid group (8 parties of 6). So no more than 48. And those 48 are making steady progress by being a well-oiled machine, as you can see by the way the Black Cats idolize them. Everyone else in the world is just killing time until the clearers win the game. No one ever said it was impossible, or even particularly hard (hard in video game terms: clearing 100 bosses without losing everyone to attrition and wipes would be impossible in most MMOs) . It just takes time and people willing to risk their lives.

Does anyone have a definite answer, or a confident clue to how many episodes this has?

We're on episode 3 and they're on floor 27 out of 100. Since episode 2 was when they started advancing through the floors and now they're on floor 27 on episode 3, i'm wondering if that large 20+ floors time skip will continue or if it will dwindle down to a few floors each episode when nearing the end to show what kind of struggle they go through (Depending on how many episodes it's going to have)

Certainly, an army might help. But who is going to lead it?Almost no one in here has military training- this is Japan, after all. If this was the US, or a nation with Universal Conscription, the story might be different. If the SAO incident happened in say the US, and out of the ten thousand players, over a thousand served in the military before, perhaps an "Army" may be a more viable option, provided a leader or enough leaders can be found.

Can it be commanded? Again, these issues were raised in Episode 1, raised even outside this thread.

My impression of the episode was that the content itself was fine, but it would have benefited greatly from letting the scene transitions breath a little. For instance, the scene where the guild members were killed needed a few more seconds to let the impact of what happened sink in before it moved on with the time skip, even if that time was just spent on silence.

Nah, sudden pickaxe death had a nice touch. Of course, he couldn't feel pain, but seeing him scream under a relentless assault of... santa's little helpers(?) was quite cruel indeed.

This!! This is exactly how I felt after watching the episode. They should have allowed a couple of seconds of silence in total darkness for the horror or the BCotFM's death to sink in with the watchers. That transition scene was waaaay too fast, and changing it to a happy-looking Christmas scene with a cheerful background music totally ruined it.

The ending scene with Sachi was executed wonderfully, though. If there weren't for the stupid Christmas scene that ruined my mood, I would probably have cried when she hummed that song

Wow this ep.... bullshit... i don't see why so much enthusiasm about it...
Extremely overrated.
All in this episode were bad. Drama? seriously ? forced & stupid as hell....
Virtual MMO? damn , they must've made another fantasy anime instead.... or like Tower of Druaga....
Seems like there were filler huh , i'll give 1/2 episodes then but still , i'm afraid for the futur animation even more...
