Like I said before, if you paid attention to the title of her book, Shirakaba, you'll know that it's not a yaoi manzine.

The subs I used did have this scene, though.

But yeah, highly enjoyable show. Offered a very refreshing (if not outright bleak) glimpse into the manga industry. And our stoic main girl is awesome as always. Even if most of the stuff she does is talk, her comebacks are brilliant. And she makes hilarious facial expressions.

I also find it interesting that she can understand her assistant without the need of his notebook. That's some powerful mind reading she has going on there.

Well, I know for sure that Crunchyroll doesn't have it. Which is stupid considering they own the rights to stream it and I'm paying them money for the HD. >_>

So 'self' goes against the mainstream only to sell four copies... no wonder she is such a cynic after all

As for the official subs, what can I say, the moment I thought they improved their translation / started respecting their viewers, they cut out a whole scene... WHY

I think that was my favorite part. The whole episode was a pretty savage assessment of the state of serialized manga, and at the end, nothing has changed. It's still a hopeless case to try anything new. Cynical comedy works very well on me.

Well, if you care to take a look at Shadow5YA's link, Shirakaba was pretty influential avantgarde.

End of the World Party 05 - MetalGarurumon's Revenge: Chapter I

Huh. Apparently the fairies maintain their version of TV Tropes. But with higher quality control standards. And they themselves can influence the flow of narrative. Maybe they're just storytellers at heart. It would go a long way towards explaining their dialogue. The monolith was very (and likely deliberately) 2001-ish, including giving humans something they never really had before. I'm not sure what it's about, but those brain slug things look to be a source of natural electricity.

We also got Nana Mizuki in this show, as Pion. (That just barely qualifies as a name, but I'll take what I can get.) It's very likely that the festival of electricity had something to do with what was causing the fairies to get out of Dodge. There's a lot of questions being raised, and not very many answers. But I'd gladly wager the city Mai and the assistant stopped by was once Tokyo. Just a hunch,

Is it wrong of me that I'm disappointed that nothing happened between the main character and assistant-kun while they were stuck in an ancient human city with no contact to outside world?

Also nice guest appearance by friender there at the end of the episode.

Anyone else find the music at the latter half of the episode to be familiar? I felt like it came out of a JRPG.

So I'm guessing this happened before the first anime arc? I noticed the director was there as if nothing happened.

Is it supposed to be presumed that 'Pion' is an android, and further presumed that androids like her are made up of nanobots that take the form of an obelisk when not active?

That's a possiblility.

And...catgirl androbot FTW!

Favorite character in the show! Hopefully she doesn't fade out of existence like the others T_T

Great episode, the scene with the book about fairy luck was quite funny.
Interesting battle scene with the slimes, not even her trusty knife helped.

Any extra scene after the credit? The one I watched had nothing.

Could "Pion" and "Oyag" actually be short for the satellites Pioneer and Voyager?
