Ah well, I agree with you that manga's visual format makes things easier to taken in. I could only imagine how much more difficult remembering all the terms and their fairly complicated mechanics can be in the Novel without some sort of glossary.

Hmm, if you read it in Japanese, the kanji usually help you to understand the jargon without memorizing the exact meaning. Of course you still won't magically remember what's the meaning of said jargon, but sometimes you can deduce what's said jargon used for in the mahouka world.

Is it just me or does the manga style heavily resemble the LN artists' style? Can they be the same person?

They are not. Also that tall bishouneske style for characters has become pretty mainstream as of late.

Since unfortunately there's still no proper scanlation of Yuutousei (for some strange reason Mangaholic is holding out on releasing even though I know they have translations - HINT HINT), I'll try to give a mini-summary of those parts we don't already know about from Rettousei.

I just read chapter 4 of light novel and here it is, already come out in manga form, all text been compressed into panels of picture.....not like it's bad or disappointing but.....after all that hard work LN translator pour down, manga translator make it in shorter time/effort

err...when Yuutosei 1st chapter will out?, Bakaupdates list Yuutosei translator as 'N/A' aka. Not Available? which group?

Yuutousei ch 2 script finished. I'd been delaying them because I had been expecting the previous chapter to come out first, but I guess there's nothing for it now that noone else seems to want to do it.

Please contact me if you feel like helping out, I am far too busy with school to manage any more than occasional TLing.

You know, I kinda expected this, and that's why y pm-ed you a while ago.

My Spanish translations are up to ch.4, but I was waiting to Eng. tls to not rise so much the expectatives about this series. I think, there has to be an amount of time to do a chapter, and it is a crime to not release this series when the main character is Miyuki

I can help you whith anything you want, but QC.

Well there we have it, no matter what anyone says, Miyuki X Tatsuya FTW!

Have to admit I was wondering if we'd get to see Miyuki undress since she showed up in the dressing gown(yes I've always got my mind in the gutter when it comes to anime and manga) and lo & behold we did!

And wow, simple yet effective!

The yandere-ness was also quite amusing in a way. You could say in normal circumstances it's going overboard but with the way these 2 are it's like the norm.

Weird tho, 28 pages felt quite short here for some reason.
Guess I want more of this than I thought.

I was thinking what was Yuutousei, checked google and saw a Miyuki spin-off, checked for any chapters and found ch1 in Spanish

It must be real popular, given that there're less than 10 chapters out for Rettousei.

I think that the Mahouka universe has the potential to eclipse the Index universe in popularity. If you go for the popularity of the books, almost definitely.

It was already popular before it was even published. Perhaps even more so than SAO. I'm not sure how many views SAO clocked in, but Mahouka got 30 million views before getting published, and 50 million views by the time volume 3 was out, IIRC.

Yay! The latest chapter of the manga came out with a page that says 1.3 million copies sold, "Light Novel Ranking #1" and "Book of the Year 2012"

Spoiler: With Miyuki arriving for class, Honoka freaks out when she learns from Shizuku that Miyuki will sit directly behind them in class. Complaining to Shizuku why she didn't tell her sooner, she turns around to unexpectedly face her idol, freezing deer-in-headlight style. One of Miyuki's patented smiles knocks her off her feet - literally. In her eagerness to make a good first impression, Honoka trips and and falls flat on her face. "It's all over" despair is however quickly dispelled when Miyuki helps her up for some initial female bonding. Shizuku introduces herself and can't help herself from ratting to Miyuki that Honoka is a gigantic fan of hers - to Honoka's royal embarrassment. In the meantime the 1A male blooms standing in a distance curse that they have no chance to talk to Miyuki, too. [Classes start and a lot of explanations follow which I didn't feel like dictionarying me through] At the end of the classes, the several guys including Morisaki crowd Miyuki, who politely responds, but is visibly feeling uncomfortable about it. She tries to shake them off by mentioning that she needs to see a teacher, just to have the guys attach themselves "What a coincidence, me too!" style. Honoka intervenes forcefully and drags Miyuki off with a pretense - to Miyuki's clear relief and Morisaki's frustration. Walking along, Miyuki notices that Honoka's uniform was dirtied from her earlier fall. While Honoka still wonders what to do, Miyuki quietly cleans the stain magically (like she did for Tatsuya after his training fight before). Honoka can't believe her eyes since Miyuki didn't even use a CAD and thinks to herself that she wouldn't ever be able to pull this off. Miyuki continues to ace things in her class, extending her stalkerish fanbase. During lunch break, she's happy to find Tatsuya, Erika and Mizuki in the cafeteria, leading to the Morisaki-Tatsuya confrontation we know of from Rettousei.
