Erm the three races are Human, Newman and CAST according to the official PSO2 site...

Anyway has anyone made it to the desert stages yet ?

A good way to get help is, to use the comment bit when you are creating quest/mission and pop in what you are trying to achieve, like "need to S rank mission in 16min, to unlock new area", or something. Doesn't work every time, but usually you get people who either having the same issue or high level characters joining to help you.

This is an issue, as the banning system seems to be almost automatically done, when someone submits an incident, but a proper appeal process isn't even offered, only thing you can do at the moment is to write to support and even then I haven't heard anyone being successful yet. I mean it is and would be annoying for people who have purchased AC for in game content being banned for something they haven't done

Well since I never really got into any of the newer PSOs after I quit the first one I might get some things wrong but basically the character type naming convention in PSO follows this:

Class convention:
HU = hunter
RA = ranger
FO = force

Then followed by race convention:
mar = human male
marl = human female
newm = newman male
newearl = newman female
cast = android male
caseal = android female

So yeah there is a cast. And naturally FO is inaccessible to cast and caseals.

Times have change, but it is still funny to see them casting techs. In pso2, at least at the moment, there isn't much difference between the races, apart from customising their appearances and minor stats differences. IIRC in PSO casts have trap vision, traps and regeneration, which they do not have here. So basically all races are the same.

Lol casts on FO @_@

And ugh... That sounds terrible. I actually played the DS PSO and it's exactly like you are saying which is kinda dumb in my opinion. IMO Sega needs to bust out a new system.

The new content has been partially added, and I can't say I'm too happy with it.
The emergency quest is just a frigging waste of time: we get a color swapped Banshee and Panther, with -exactly- the same moves, with the exceptions of adds (lvl40 galf, being a MAJOR nuisances) and both felins being able to jump in the tree (well Panther can perform a triple slash combo, which obliterate anyone).
Let's just say that this is a major pain in the ass (even more so than their tundra version, which is quite a feat).

To make things worse, the forest map was hardly tweeked, so you have long "corridors" without much possibility to have a multi party meetup in an efficient way, that and the number of mob being noticably lower than city maps, even in hard mode. So really this emergency quest is really not as exp efficient as the city map, and leave a very bad aftertaste.

It is free to play, with premium content. Alternatively you can get the retail pack, which has the client on DVD-Rom plus other stuiff like 30day premium access, but you have to wait till september(?) for that.

How to set it up and for other vital information visit http://bumped.org/psublog/
The translation patch for menu is on the PSUMods board and you will find support for the patch over there. Just google it.

PSO is the original MMO that made path for such game like monster hunter and .hack. If you like those games you should try it out.

And for PSU don't even mention that abortion of a game.

unless it's Psp2 or Psp2i (Sega really needs to bring infinity over here ALREADY!) on the psp.

but yes, i do agree with you on this, PSU was really BAD...at least that was what
i think when i was playing on the NA/EU server on the PC ver. that game should
just disappear and its god forsaken long awaiting contents that never came and
then server was close down by SoA.

i have quitted PSO BB long ago...got a little bore that's all. there are still
some people posting on the PSO thread on PSO-W if you go there.

I got the same view.
Banther and Banshee sitting/resting on the trees is freaking annoying. Unless you are a ranger or force, minutes just goes by, where you can only hit galves. Yes the mission is timed like the emergency city, where you can fight ragne as a boss.

I used to play very much to Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast during two years, I remember those horrible telephone bills because of online playing.
I have never been interested by Phantasy Star Online 2 until now, but I think I'll buy it day one, nostalgia nostalgia...

I've been messing around in the game and it's a lot of fun so far.

My one problem is that I have no clue how to get new parts for my CAST. Is it only through spending real money or getting that lottery prize?

If you go to the pink question-mark box you get access to other people's myshop. On that you can find items and parts put up for sale by other people.
But yeah you can only new get parts from AC scratch, iirc, but people put it up for sale, because they are either no using a cast or they already got those parts.

BTW I was told Sega had to split the servers because of the gatcha system. Not sure if that is true, but could be possible, considering there is a premium tax on gambling in most western countries and you are not allowed to encourage children to gamble.
