I don't think we had two pages of complemantary evidence from the source material to go solely based on that.

Before, the mention of the ability seemed simply unescessary, since events were going sorta like we expected they would had the ability still existed. However, dialogues on the recent chapters do give some basis for that speculation.

Now, it does seem awfuly strange indeed, like you said. They are talking precisely about an ability Devil Style made neutral before, yet they are reacting as if it was always in effect.

That may be because Naze and Ajimu are the only people in that room who know about the ability.

Honestly, the only reason I didn't want the series to end at 140 is because as good as an ending as it was, it lacked proper resolution, but with these...

I believe it's because of the Obon Festival.
Medaka Box is published in WJS which I know is on break this week but I don't know about Shounen Magazine...though I'm guessing it's on break as well.

There is nothing to really disappoint about, consider we have Medaka's dad waiting for her.
That gurantees big trouble.

For an arc that is there to set up the for the real meat, it has enough content.

Neither Torai nor Tsurubami actually got to do anything and we didn't get to go to the moon. I'm pretty disappointed about that.

This sounds like an odd statement when Nisio is already everywhere.
I'd rather take what is happening right now as one of his means to troll us from an unexpected direction in the next few chapters.
