Kikuoka just happened to look like Aizen in the illustrations. He did not behave the same way as Aizen like taking off the glasses and changing his hairstyle.

Most of the shops had their sturdy metal shutters pulled down and few players moved around the main streets. That was because the time was 4am, and this was the time the least number of people would be connected.

Asuna turned her eyes from the window to the table and picked up the still steaming cup. She brought the thickly-colored tea to her lips and the imaginary heat agitated her tongue. She did not feel sleepy, but her brain was slightly fuzzy as she practically had not slept for the past 3 days.

She closed her eyes and used her fingers to tap her temple slightly. The other Sylph girl who saw this asked worriedly,

“Are you alright, Asuna-san? You almost never slept.”

“Uun, I’m fine here. You too, Lyfa. It must be tiring for you to walk around everywhere, right?”

“My body in reality is resting properly on the bed, so I’m alright.”

They said that they were fine to each other in unison, but realized that both of them did not sound very energetic at all and gave wry smiles.

This place was the player home of Lyfa, the avatar of Kirigaya Suguha in ALFheim Online. The walls surrounding the round room had glossy shell-like things on it, and there were white table and chairs as well. The color looked a little delicate as the place engulfed the trio.

“If you force yourself too much, your minds won’t be able to work well during crucial moments. Even if you can’t sleep, it makes a whole world of difference to close your eyes.”

The owner of the calm voice was Asada Shino in the Cath Sith avatar who had been diving for half a year. The character name was the same as the user Sinon from Gun Gale Online. Asuna looked over and nodded.

“Un…the meeting ended, so please allow me to use the bed here. Really, if only hypnosis spells are effective on players.”

“I think you can sleep well if onii-chan sleeps on that rocking chair there…”

Lyfa nagged what Asuna and Sinon were muttering vaguely, but they did not have the strength to smile.

Lyfa placed the cup she was holding with both hands back on the table, took a very deep breath, and showed a change in expression.

“Then…we’ll talk about the information we managed to investigate today, no, from yesterday onwards. In conclusion, we can’t find any specific evidence that onii-chan was taken to the Tokorozawa National Defense Medical College Hospital. In the 1st chapter alone I've probably said "HOLY ****" a dozen times... if this is the last arc of the SAO LNs I wouldn't mind, as I doubt later events can top this arc.

Major events:
-Kirito's revealed to be 'kidnapped' by the JSDF in making combat AIs (basically what Project Alicization was about). They took Kirito as the chance to do so arisen from Johnny Black's attack, replacing the ambulance personnel with their people. Kirito's importance was his influence in-game can make the AIs who cannot deviate from the Underworld's laws into breaking them, something that the researchers can't do. Ironically it was breaking the rules to save another life, in direct contrast with their original problem of getting AIs around the law of not killing people. Major back-story about SAOverse's US, and how unmanned weapons developed from the US citizen's distaste of soldier casualties in Iraq, leading on from Vietnam and other military involvements. AIs are developed because citizens don't want to see human casualties.
In the beginning, JSDF wanted a independent weapon source from the US so they won't rely on foreign influence too much. VR was suggested like Kirito thought to train soldiers, but after SAO beta started true AIs was thought to be eventually possible. When players were stuck in game preparations were made for this project.

-Fluctlight is the device/program involved in this project. Supposedly capable of making a copy of a person's soul. Copies however are unable to handle they're just a copy, with the same memories and everything of the original. Human babies had their mind copied and using the first 16 as a base, each eventually paired into 4 pairs and giving birth to ten kids in each set, which eventually formed a population of 80,000.
The Seed is used to form the Underworld, and can accelerate 1000x the normal time. It's not the brain nerves being accelerated but the consciousness/soul, so supposedly no negatively effects like burning the brain out. Getting the kids to adulthood, 18 years, in Real time was only 980 hours (approximately one week).

Oh, and the ruling inhabitants in Underworld managed to access the 'laws of the world', manipulate what laws people can or cannot break. It's equivalent to game characters able to hack into your computer and make changes to the game. Skynet, anyone? >.>

-Asuna sneaked into the heavily defended R&D department/base by asking for help from the person who developed the Medicuboid (Kayaba's assistant). Found her address from Kirito's files. Said person was asked to be part of the project many times by Raase, and Asuna disguised herself as her assistant. Hacked the photo earlier and the real assistant is currently on holiday.

- Kayaba may still be alive. o_O His assistant didn't get charged with helping Kayaba because he implanted a bomb inside her that would blow her head off from the neck up. The assistant kept the 'bomb' as a keepsake, knowing Kayaba would have never used the bomb on her and only did that as a excuse so when the game is over she won't be blamed by the authorities. Final line in the 1st chapter suggested Kayaba's mind is in there and can still influence things, heating up and giving her a burn.

...Is it just me or is it that if Kirito wore the <<Nerv-Linker>> and installed <<Burst Link>>, he'll be accepted even if the 1st condition was not met?

No, but you read the first chapter of volume 10, and therefore had to "translate" a few parts in order to give us the summary

Actually the FLA rate can be adjusted at will, so it's not necessary 10000 times in Volume 9 and 10.

And the FLA rate is not moving as fast as 10000 times currently. It's moving at a flow of at most 1000 times.

I always find it amazing how they can monitor Underworld or even bring a display up when it's in such ultra accelerated mode. Sure, they can do it slow-mo (though they didn't explain it, or I've missed the details as usual), but it's still quite 'amazing' to me.

In SAO, how rare is female players? Ration between men and women? 5% of the population or even less?

I've always imagined it as 10%, but I don't think I have any basis for that. Less than 5% strikes me as a little low. Based on the characters we actually see, it seems closer to 30% at lowest. Although I doubt that was the intent.

But of course, we can be assured that Kirito meets every single one.
