Either C:\ProgramData or I think something like… C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

You can probably just type %appdata% into the Address bar in Windows Explorer to access it.

Just now I reinstalled Episode 4, and at a certain point in Episode 2, on-scripter closes itself once text comes up (and it happens everywhere through 3 & 4 as well).

I used the DVD version of the most recent installer on the WH website.

Wanted to post back and say that reinstalling everything worked. In fact, I'm done with EP7 and EP8 now! I was wondering if there's been any word from the person who first did the Tsubasa patch if the untranslated tips have any progress on them? I looked around for any other patches or word on them, but everything I found was from a long while back. Even a link to the untranslated TIPS written out would be appreciated, if one exists. If not, no worries.

I think all the translated TIPS have been put into the Tsubasa patch. I think Ars Magica are working on an English patch for Tsubasa, though.

Sorry, I would have replied, but I don't really have a solution. The only suggestions I have would be to try re-installing the game, if you haven't done so already. Other than that, I really don't know, sorry.

It might seem like a stupid question, but which language are you using: English or Japanese? I assume you're using English, but if you were running the japanese version for whatever reason, NScripter will shut down at certain points if your computer's locale isn't set to Japanese.

Nope, we only worked on the Hane patch. Currently, we're not working on any other English patch.

edit: mh, it seems quite a lot of people expected us to finish Tsubasa too; I wasn't aware of that. I've talked with the others, and they're pretty much ok with it, so yeah, I guess we'll be translating the remaining chapters.

Unfortunately not. I hope it will be translated eventually, though. Maybe I'll try hacking the game sometime to see if I can get into the script…

Does anyone have a clue as to why the Tsubasa partial patch would give you a blank black screen after running the application. The regular version I'm running works fine when I installed it, but does the patch not work on a Windows 7 machine? Some advice would be appreciated

Tried clicking the mouse? I think you need to click the mouse once to get it working.

Yeah, I tried clicking the screen and hitting keys but nothing seems to be working.
All I get is a black window with "Umineko no Naku Koro ni Tsubasa - Patch for Story..."
Is the patch suppose to be for windows xp or did I install the VN in the wrong folder? (I have a regular program files folder and an program x86 folder.)
I have also made sure to set the system locale to Japan, thus allowing me to install the game in the first place, as directed in the .txt read me file.

As long as you put the translation folder inside the main tsubasa directory it should work fine.

Just to make this more clear, the files need to be inside the main tsubasa directory in their own folder, rather than the files inside the translation folder just copied directly to the main directory.

I can't speak for Witch-Hunt so I don't really know, but I suppose Our Confession is currently on-hold because they're really busy right now.
