Ghost in the Shell - movie vs. series.

There 2 set of movies in a certain alternate timeline and a TV series version.

Is it recommended to watch the movie first or the TV series?

I always say BOTH. Because the chances are one has something that lacks the other. Besides, if you'll watch the movie alone... you might be wondering why it seemed that the story moves too quick.

Now in the series, a lot of the background story will be run through as the story progresses.... It many reach to the point that it gets boring at some episodes but its part of the suspense...

Another thing is the graphic.... Most if not all, movie has better quality animation, but it has its down side sometimes...

Again, watch both if you ... so you will not missed out some important stuffs.

Watch the 1st movie first...
Then continue to watch the tv series and 2nd movie...

The tv series is so much better than the movies. If you had to watch only one, watch those.

As there is no continuity between the movies and the tv series, you can go watch the movies whenever you want, so either don't bother, or watch them first, so you don't go 'bleh' when you watch them last after having watched the awesome the tv series is.

I would say watch the series first then the movies. I enjoyed the series more then the films. The series also is more intense, in my opinion.

No particular order, I think. The first movie before Innocence and Solid State Society after the 2nd GIG, but that's all there is.

I disagree the series are better (well, maybe better than Innocence that was rather disappointing), but if you expect LOT of intense action in the movies, you'll be disappointed. (but then, 1st movie has my favorite action scene ever... It's just played super slow with haunting music)
The movies are contemplative while the series offer raw action.
