Katakana can be notoriously difficult to romanize at times. Just look at all the old controversy about how Lacus/Rux/Raks Clyne's first name was supposed to be romanized. Still, it'll be very interesting if they take that route.

I guess we'll have to wait till Schwarzesmarken is finished to find this out for certain. I know I'd love to watch an anime series based on Schwarzesmarken myself, assuming they managed to faithfully translate Carnelian's character designs over to animation.

Spoiler:
Hey, this kind of reminds me of that time I wrote that fanfic about that thing.

Does she shoot a Tank in the face?

Spoiler:
I think I'm the only person on the internet who noticed (or paid enough attention to care) those '90s era Japanese Fortified Suits the episode 1-2 TE girls wear were actually recolored Schwarzensmarken suits.

No, I remember clearly that someone somewhere pointed out right back when episode 1 or 2 aired that they were using the same model of fortified suit that the Germans were using in '83, or at least one with the same exterior appearance. (The boxy glove parts being kind of distinctive initial giveaways and all even if you don't have an eye for detail).

Believing yourself to be the only person on the internet who noticed just because you don't hear it being talked about (because honestly it's a nice touch but who really cares all that much?) is the height of conceit.

Or it just means I'm a giant nerd who's hopelessly nerdy enough to notice extremely nerdy things nobody cares about. Would you call it conceited if I said I think I'm the only person on the internet who thinks Rival-chan is overrated and that other girl with the same voice actress as Cure Peace and Squid Girl is a more compelling character?

Thanks for the confirmation tho.

I sure hope you're not surprised by it. It's nothing new from Izumi Noto after all.

Well I'm friends with Kazuya Yamashuro, so the haughty attitude just sort of rubs off I guess.

We hang out a lot and watch Meduka Meguca and Braiking Bad when we're not on BATER hunting missions.

Funny that you mention Breaking Bad, since one of the side character of Schwarzesmarken is called Heisenberg. I can mentally picture a East German Bryan Cranston now.

Awesome.

This is essentially Muv-Luv Alternative/Unlimited (actually, now that I think about it, this would be canon for both verses since the divergence happens in 2001), mixed with Red Storm Rising, a good dose of stale beer spying, and "You Gotta Be Shitting Me" Wild Weasel missions against OMGWTFPWNHAX. With a dash of Yukikaze for the "Ignore allies in trouble" - although, to be fair, during 'Nam, Wild Weasels were specifically instructed to go for the SAM sites and ignore everything else, and would either be deployed solo or as escorts for a strike package.

So anyway I'm rather intrigued by this series - even though I keep putting off playing Extra, Unlimited and Alternative

Also DAT IRIS.

I have a question, was it ever explained how the retina laser imaging works through Gretel's glasses? In the Novel it seems she wears them while piloting...

I don't think Sakaki, and Noto, have had probs piloting with their glasses on. Those who have invented the suits have likely gotten around this issue.

True, I forgot about Class rep from the original. Feels like this was just ignored though, since direct projection bypasses corrective needs.

Once again, 96G is Carnelian's favourite bra size, and they also come in handy as comforting pillows. Kind of makes me wonder if the teaser pic for Vol. 18 is the "fruition" of that "long and wonderful association."

Spoiler for Novel Plot:
