Hello,

Just for anyone who has read anything or heard about the movie:
Do you know if the movie was received well on release? Were the numbers good? Did it sell well? Did it leave an awesome 'bang' potential for more movies?

Just came back from seeing the movie.

Pretty good! For a first movie of a shounen series it's really solid.

There's blood and the fanservice has been ramped up to manga level.

Animation quality varies a LOT, but after the first half it's solid work. Villians are cool and the story is typical Fairy Tail (i.e. Mashima) hackery

My only complaint is the Aya Hirano turns Lucy up to 11 and it's way over-the-top. I usually like her but she goes overboard in this...

I just felt like she was hamming it up even more than usual and it was distracting especially during the more serious scenes.
