No, they don't.

It's just their chemistry that reminds me of Luke & Leia. That pair has a lot of similarities: Luke/Kira (reluctant hero, pretty much innocent, both gifted with special ability, brother) x Cagalli/Leia (tough girl, they can comfort Kira/Luke when needed, sister).

But, Imagine if Cagalli did what Leia did to her brother.

Sad? Yeah, but most viewers are very poor at reading characters. I can see many viewers cheering when Flay's death scene is remaster. Many will use the world bitch to describe her and that she got what she deserved.

Wish Yzak got anywhere near the amount of hate Flay got. Now that guy was a douche in SEED and killed quite a number of innocents.

Kira the kind/innocent/nice guy,Cagalli tomboyish/tough/Fiesty. Their ineraction and different personalty's,is what made it so Engaging.

Hmmm... actually... if fandom has anything to say about it... Kira is like Jack Nicholson, he has done everyone!
