As for him freaking out in that jail - what else did you expect in those conditions? The guy desperately wants to "protect everyone" (since the beginning of the series), but all he can do is helplessly watch how SS is getting butchered. And he was never a "calm" person to begin with.

Imho, I expect either a hollow to come out or smth alike, when his consciousness will break. And judging by those last panels with Ichigo, there's a good chance for that to happen...

Conclusion: Yamamoto Genryuusai Shigekuni is OP, and his bankai is indeed capable of mass murdering. Should've a nickname of "Mr.Genocide".

P.S. The only thing I'm worried about - for how long can he sustain that form? Or what weakness it might have?

Because it doesn't have any visible weaknesses so far - any kido or whatever you'll throw at this guy will get burned at the contact with his aura, and his sword is capable of cutting through anything, and he got the speed to match up with anyone.

chapter 507 is out btw... its just Yamamoto showing off that his bankai is as powerful as the sun itself XD

Thank God for that. I knew his bankai wouldn't get stolen, but it was still bothering me none the less.

Really good chapter and that is a pretty epic bankai, as expected of Old Yamma & his sword.
His bankai woulda been handy against Aizen, thats for sure, but when you face sum1 with absolute hypnosis, it'd be far too risky to use it....

Aizen feared his sword (unknown if he knew about the bankai), so he had wonderweiss created to steal the flames.

Yama's bankai is pretty cool I guess, I liked seeing everyone in SS reactions to it, but I wish Kubo had thrown in a panel or two of Rangiku sweating.

I wonder if there will be a North and South as well.

it seems the longer the battle goes on more and more the SS is in danger of being destroyed by it as it seems to be heating up the place.

If he could have, he would have. He's probably going to do a full retreat, because there is no way he is going to stick around to fight against a Bankai like that, especially since it has changed completely since the last time he faced it.

Though a flashback of what he did a 1000 years ago would be pretty cool, maybe even a chance to see some of the Captains back then..

Most likely he has someone in reserve who can counter/stand up to that bankai... maybe the guy who cut down that fail quincy and pointed his sword at Urahara?

You just don't go on a war with someone who has a few aces up his sleeve without an ace of your own...

Sun goes from east to west so there probably won't be a north and south.

Also lol@hitsugaya. Guy can't even use his shikai now. He just has a normal sword. Of course now it looks like the guy who stole the bankai can't use it either.

so yamaji's bankai is really similar to ichigo's. it simply condenses all its power into the blade making the zanpakutou deadlier and far more powerful as suppose to the huge and elaborate bankai that most shinigami have. if his bankai couldn't be stolen then that could be the reason why they couldn't steal ichigo's as well.

Yamamoto's Bankai is just plain awesome, and as a bonus he makes fun of Hitsugaya

Bach couldn't even hit him without breaking his sword.. I just hope he doesn't come up with a total bs way to counter the Bankai.

Well, we've already seen an "absolute" force in the series - Barragan's released form aura and "Respira".

I guess beating Yamamoto will either involve some extreme spirit particle controlling powers from Jucha (he's the strongest quincy, after all), and/or some serious drawbacks to Yama-ji's bankai (like, for example, that 1.5mil (15 mil according to other sources) degree armor can be pretty harmful to himself)

Correction: it's 15 million degrees, not 1.5. Same as core of the Sun.
