It may be vitriol but it isn't hate to have had it with zealot deathmongers no matter what religion they wave a flag for. Or to be angry at a presidential candidate for being as clueless as an ashtrary, making things worse without cause (e.g. relations with Russia).

Yeah, once again, Romney shows he is not good material for presidency. What did he do to make relations worse with Russia? I didn't read anything on that today and didn't read the last few pages of this thread.

Basically, he called Russia (with whom we actually have pretty good relations, long term parallel goals, etc) our "#1 threat". Its like Mitty stopped paying attention after 1964...

Now Russia has justification for being concerned about missile system deployments in NATO, etc. We might actually elect this idiot to have access to the button.

It is looking like (in the extreme versions of things) what we will get as a country is:

Republican President: destruction from outside the country due to foolishness.

Democratic President: destruction from inside the country due to bigotry.

Either path, if taken to the extreme, leads to destruction.

So basically, what you are saying, is it either comes down to (potentially) destruction from the GOP itself or destruction from the GOP supporters?

Possibly. Or foolishness based on economic factors by the democratic supporters, depending on where the money leads. That could be true in either case.

The GOP supporters believe Obama will destroy the country form the inside, one way or another. Be it by taking away freedoms. Introducing mass socialism to the country (they read it as Commumism, which upsets them since they fought against that from the 1940s to the 1990s directly, and from the 1920s on some levels), and by allowing foreigner to take over the country (Muslims in particular due to current levels of paranoia and the President's past). They seem to feel something is coming and it will break the country. Though they seem certain it won't be their fault...but something else (what was the really old 1800's phrase? ah of course: "The Darkies will cause a ruckus if that one gets a second terms and it won't end 'til the nation is in flames". Sort of "Birth of a Nation" kind of thing).

Democratic supporters believe Romney will be an idiot and either push the button, or allow someone to push the button for him. (or just get the country into a large scale war that will leave the country broken and ripe for picking apart from the outside).

I can't really see a reason to trust the republican supporters on the economy.

Depends who has the money and who is shaking the tree. I don't trust any of them, but they got the bucks that move the economy.

That is what makes me so sad and angry. They only thought something like that was coming once Obama was the presidential candidate back in 2008. Go back to early 2007 and everything was fine and dandy with them. Go to Q3 of 2008 and they thought 'something was coming that would break the country' once it looked like a black man had a chance at being president. He got elected, and they've been freaking out ever since. The tea party started before Obama ever started serving in office. Did it start before he was even elected? Were they starting to form it before the election day in November of 2008; in case he was elected?

They are afraid of something breaking the country, but it is the GOP and the GOP supporters that would lead to that if that is to happen in the not-too-distant future. Bush administration screws up the country and the GOP messes around with the country's well being in an attempt to make Obama a one term president and all they can do is point the finger at Obama and liberals and blame, blame, blame! "Though they seem certain it won't be their fault...", you say. That is the thing that is so maddening, if this country goes into a train wreck crash in the not-too-distant future, it'll be mostly their fault (and of course, that of the GOP itself)!

This embassy incident is going to force me to stop following the election. Look, this isn't an act of war; some people got together and attack an embassy and killed some people. This is a criminal matter and not a military/political one. This changed nothing; this is not a change of the local political climate. And there is definitely no grounds to send troops anywhere. Find the people responsible and charge them with the full force of the law, end of question. Frankly it doesn't matter that those involved are Muslims. After all, it is no stranger than having school shootings in America being done by a Christian.

A crime has been committed. We got laws to deal with that. There is no reason to argue that this should influence the POTUS election in any way.

But I know there is no hope of that. People are going to take this personally and start trying to punish Libya. And that's pathetic.

Honestly, the same basic political strategy was used in 2008 by McCain and Fox News when he attacked Obama over not "responding" (in this case commenting) on Russia's attack on Georgia (the context of the political attack is different, but the basic attack is the same). Politicians simply have the habit of villainizing anyone and everyone at any given moment no matter the circumstances.

Sadly, unlike McCain who received some traction for his comments, Romney is seeing nothing but dissonance even from his own party. The fact that he is doubling down on his comments just goes to show how ill-suited the man is for politics.

But James, here is the scary about this

He might still win it because they just want Obama out of office so badly that they (GOP/Team Party) might sleep with cobras just to do it and that not all. He should be preaching peace and other good vibes, but the first they he do is to attack Obama about it. I think I might follow VCV example and might hold off of looking at the election,

Am I the only ont than thought of the possibility than the ''movie'' was organized by some wealthy GOP partisan, expecting Obama to show some weakness in his reaction to the trouble than it would be expected to cause.

The election news to follow now is really the vote suppression going on in several key states. Massive spotlights are needed to keep the GOP (and yes, it is pretty exclusively the GOP that uses this tactic to keep legitimate voters from voting) from flipping a state because it usurped a few key counties in that state.

Hey, I had a passing thought about that and they have the money to pull it off too but I dont really think that Obama show some weakness in my eyes, he did what surposed to do as CIC.

I think the one that show the weakness was the GOP with Romney at the head with those comments. But I am really think that GOP after this election to go somewhere and start rebuilding their platform from the beginning, I know they cant go back to good ole days but they need to find balance and quickly.

If the GOP had done it, it would have better production values.

Yep, the GOP playing real dirty to try and get back into power. Trying to cheat their way into power, like they did in some past elections. They are a real bunch of criminals, if you ask me.
