The franchise had played with the theme that inside every single organization of any sorts there're groups with different alignments and objectives. And above all those differences, how they see the war against the BETA and their priorities about that.

Yui was the one pushing for the trials to take place, and had to call in her uncle to push the approval through at higher up.
When was this shown in the anime? Because EP8's flashback has her shouting at Dahl that the cannon is not ready for combat trials. Or would that be the TSF combat trials? Afaik, the cannon and the TSF were separate developments.
Yes, anime episodes does not reflect real time. They should include some more time titles in the screens, so portray that time has passed. Most likely they know about the weapon testing months before, since it has to be approved by all the higher ups on both sides before approval is given.
Again refer to the timelines and all UN staff including the Russians know the weapon was coming.
I was assuming that paperwork is fast and they didn't fill those tunnels because someone leaked that info to them. The mystery is whether the paperwork started after or before the Russians decided to leave the tunnels as the BETA left them.
Yui's inner thoughts in this episode hinted that a leak must had happened for them to conveniently leave the tunnels as they were.
He did not wanted to, remember. He was forced to by the company rep (the old guy in the suit). Initially Yuuya was not to be deployed until the rep forced all units to deploy in the previous ep to 'if you don't have a gun, we can still complete testing of close combat maneuvers'
Yes, by "PROMINENCE Project Leader" I was referring to that guy, he's in charge of where TSF goes or stays. That's why I think that this man was ordered/wants that the cannon stays in Russia.
I should have re-watched his EP3 introduction to put his name there.

They've shown transport helis. I haven't seen combat equipped choppers in that base. But they did have some fighter jets ready to take off.
At least the show got interesting enough to have this kind of discussions. And the blogger says that this is arc is just the beginning, that even better stuff is coming up.

Ep 10 during the Japan meeting the Uncle was commenting about support for Yui to bring it over. Which would conflict with the part you indicated in ep08... director error again i think... Mostly likely she wanted to do trials, but not combat trials, which was forced on her so the OpForce could plan to get their hands on it.

Fast paper work in armies.... HA HA HA HA HA HA AH HAH HA HAH... sorry, its almost as funny as 'army intelligence'. No, you have to twist someones arm to get paperwork to be signed fast from personal experience, and combat testing paperwork takes the longest.
Anyway the beach ep was in Jun 21. The time they arrived at the frontlines was Aug 04. More than enough time for 'Just as Planned'.

That dude is Frank Heinemann, technical adviser from Boening Corporation. Again not explained why he gets to push orders around like he was the boss... Which again, brings the question of who is in charge of Project PROMINENCE, right? Project PROMINENCE is an initiative by the UN forces across the world as an example of international cooperation in TSF technology development, among which many different countries take part to test their machines. The Project PROMINENCE chief supervisor is Colonel Klaus Haltwick who is shown in the Novels and Manga, but fking cut from the anime... He was supposed to brief Yui when she first arrived.

So you're telling me that the Russian higher ups are willing to sacrifice desperately needed men and material, just to steal a prototype of a weapon that they would have gotten anyway when it went into production?
