SAO really is like real life. Except that the rings should be antiparalisys. Just to be safe. For a game of action, it has a lot of "domestic" unlockables.

After watching episode 12, I have a theory. Perhaps the entire thing is some government sponsored test. That's why they can't seem to get them out...they don't WANT to.
Personally, I'd be hard pressed to come up with a better way to determine long term effects of VR use than something like this.
