Hey guys... a bit weird question but need your advice.
I got accidentally elbowed in the stomach (in the middle below the ribs), it was not a hard hit but it felt a bit weird like if something got pushed in. I was not short of breath or anything it just felt uncomfortable. Today I had the same feeling whole day. I guess you could call it as a small pain. But I don't have any bruises and I'm feeling totally fine except this slight feeling in the area of the hit. Do you think I should check with the doctor? Or is it a normal feeling? Since the last time I ever got hit in stomach was years ago and it was much harder than this. But I don't remember how long the pain lasted.

You COULD self-operate though - like open it up and check what is wrong inside.

^ Haha, that question sure was provocative, I had to flip a page back to catch up on responses!
In all seriousness, I think the emphasis is less on the man, than on the fact that popular culture has generally conditioned us to view "female with socks on" and "female with x on" as not just acceptable, but as something appealing which then creates a direct contrast vis-a-vis males. I'd say for example, we weren't talking about socks, but what about a guy with only a tank-top on? only a t-shirt on? only a dress-shirt on? Most of them I think people would argue is unattractive.. Seems like man with "only pants" or "only tie" are a few of a handful that work.. Then again, guys like Brad Pitt (my guy crush from watching Troy) could still probably get away with even having socks on.. EDIT: Fiancé disagrees with me and thinks guys can pull off white socks if they're cute enough.. Seems like she's channeling her inner Shota-con..

It still feels uncomfy but a bit better. Though I think I will check with a doctor...

I still don't see what the problem with guys wearing socks is.
On the shirt thing, I think the reason lies in how men and women's bodies are attractive. A woman's figure can be flattered or even enhanced by lingerie, whereas a man's body can't. In terms of raw sexuality, shirtless has more potency. That said, if a guy doesn't have anything to show off, I don't think most women will care much either way. I'd say a tight t shirt can also do a good job. |
