I still haven't seen the last episode and I'm in no hurry to, since I know I won't like it. But I'll be a monkey and drink the poison for the sake of curiosity.

EDIT: forgot to give my rating. Even without watching the finale I highly doubt my feelings towards this show will change, therefore I give it a 6/10 only BECAUSE I like the artwork a lot. If it weren't for that, my rating would be 5/10.

EDIT2: Okay, now that I've watch the finale I can give a proper opinion. First off all the election related stuff was great, it had me anticipating how things would turn out. But the stuff with Chisato was so damn bogus! Seriously... your love saves you and you're not only violent towards him (sort of), you're angry that he's not more concerned about the election than you? Are you fricken kidding me!? And the last scene at the grave... Even without the kiss, that scene was sooooo damn awkward! Here's some chocolate Daiki, I'll eat some too, Yuuki will too, we're smiling and happy eating chocolate in front of you (/sarcasm). I'm sorry, that was not a touching scene, I was literally laughing when they did that. I'm like... wtf?? wth is this!? lol. But like I said, the way the election was handled was pretty good, a nice heartfelt speech. Speaking of which... why did he win? Anti-Discrimination? Save Clubs? Both? Because he said he loves everybody?
My rating still stands at 6/10 btw.

I feel cheated after rewatching this old PV

YouTube
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

edit: i meant by cheated, that the pv showed scenes that weren't in the anime. Some of those scenes were route specific

That was suppose to be the anime OP? I guess they knew they wouldn't be putting all those VERY ENJOYABLE scenes shown there... Especially Satsuki, Isara, and Mifuyu scenes.

Umm, that means the anime adaptation didn't follow the source material faithfully?

At least they hinted out who is the lead heroine.

I think this was a tongue in cheek jab at the storyline. The director knew there were a lot of "holes" in the story, and he wanted to point it out to the viewers, and it was delivered by the ones whose storyline had a lot of plotholes in the end.

One of the things you have to remember is that Satsuki was essentially campaigning by herself. You never see her support or surrounded by anyone. It is extremely difficult to run a campaign by yourself, and it shows in the results. In this regards, other students will question why she is alone, and they might feel in touch with this candidate. She also probably suffered from what Mouri said, that candidates should not put out unpopular ideas until they win. Satsuki probably stuck with her unpopular ideas, which lead people to stray away from her.

I'm not well-versed enough in the culture and religion to speculate on exactly why that is, but it may be an interesting question. I certainly don't think the writer in any way intended for this to be taken as something disturbing or a sign of continued trauma, but quite the opposite.
The kissing scene in front of the grave had great symbolism. However, like so much with everything else the last few episodes, the execution of it was not as good. Culturally, showing that you have moved on and an update in your life is actually very respectful in front of the person's grave. However, what turned out wrong with this scene was when they started to make out with food in front of the grave. It would have been better served and more respectful if they just held hands and ate the chocolate. Asian culture do not like to show public displays of affection, and kissing like that was inappropriate in front of a grave in public. Once again, it was forced, like so many other things.

If you think of this series as just an advertisement to spark some interst in the viewer for the game then they accomplished it (to me at least D=)
Well, when you put it that way, then yes, the production team was successful in what they wanted to do with this anime. In essence, make the winning character undesireable to many people, and make people want to go out and buy the game in order to have the more desireable character route. Others have mentioned this as well earlier in the series, but they still could have made the execution better, even if it was not the preferred girl.

No adaptation can 100% accurately portray it's original, but i was simply complaining about many scenes that ended being absent in the anime while they were present in the PV.

Koichoco was faithfull to it's source story wise (when taking account that it combined elements from every route ), but i think it failed to capture the same feeling when i was reading it. In the original there were lots of romance in every story , while it was almost compeletely absent in the anime.

I think those scenes were literally game CGs. Everything that was shown in actual animated form was in the anime. It was more to represent the concept of the anime than promising those scenes would actually be there.

@bold: Which is why I was laughing when I saw that scene.
@underline: That was just what I was expecting... but instead we get some tongue action.

Agree with hyl for the 100%. Looked at the Eroge... there are ecchi scenes... but removed... so it's not 100% full adapted anymore...

They tend to change the dialogues... events... and endings to make it more plausible...

Many were not present in the anime. Especially the 2 Mifuyu scenes and the Isara working at a fast food restaurant scene.
It was skipped because the anime did not end up going to their routes.

I know that it was meant as a promotion video and not the final release, but that doesn't mean that i can feel cheated
Thinking back, when i saw that PV months ago there was actually hope for a Mifuyu or Isara ending.

It's still far better than Yosuga no Sora that had no qualms in showing s*x scenes at the end of each heroine's routes.

At least those were in private and was par for course with that series. This scene, while not as graphic, did not show the proper respect one should in front of someone's grave in a public location.

You really hate this anime don't you, for not choosing Satsuki?

Anyway... probably its the mood that triggered the kiss and for Yuuki failing to kiss her before the kidnapping.

I agree with you about the grave but its not that bothering. Imagine the worst, in some animes with relations to shrine maidens, public baths, school gym, school infirmary and inside the boy's house... but that's a different story..

Although not, it's worth mentioning, in front of a grave...

Iunno Genji, I'd rather be in those places you named rather than a grave, just feels wrong and disrespectful of the deceased to me. Its almost like she's going "look at this hot action bro", just don't feel natural at all. Then again, nothing about their relationship is natural.

Actually, no. It didn't bother me that Satsuki was not chosen. It bothered me that they forced Chisato down our throats. I would have been fine with anyone but Chisato, given how the story evolved. Remember, I was originally fine with Chisato, but the change in how the story was done made it change from "Chisato is okay" to "Chisato is a trainwreck".

It is what the anime production team did, and it was their choice to do the story the way it is. I'm sure there were strategies and ulterior motives that don't seem apparent to most of us. However, they chose to end the story this way. The only thing that matters is if they received the results they wanted (i.e. more sales in original game, new PSP game, and DVD/BluRay).
