Looks like some people are a bit critical about the game. People are finding loops and semi-infinite long combos, which doesn't exactly match with Ecole's promise of making a more footsie-heavy fighting game.

There's also the youtube link Kirito posted. A mechanic that allows characters to essentially Roman Cancel and get meter at the same time is already powerful. If the system can be exploited to do Chain Shift more than once in a single combo like that Linne did, the system isn't looking too balanced.

Hey guys, I'm back with a surprising new big update. It seems like a new character has been added to the roster. The character is called Eltnum, this is getting more better by the minute. I wonder if many new character reveals will be more present during the games run, can't wait for more. Anyway, here's the video of Eltnum in action, enjoy!

Nah, they can just patch her altering some moves thus removing the infinite.

Shame, because she was one of the characters I was considering maining.

There have been talks about an upcoming patch, but I wonder if they're delaying the release a bit considering a new character has been added to the roster.

That's not too different from the previous youtube vid you posted where Linne did 4.8k on Hilda.

A bigger problem is when other chars have loops that can do that much damage without meter, like Orie and Merkava.

Looks like the 1.01 patch is out on arcades.

I noticed you no longer gain GRD in a combo after using Chain Shift, meaning no second GRD Vorpal and second Chain Shift in a single combo. That should remove most if not all of the many infinites... hopefully.

We'll see how it affects the more broken characters like Merkava and Waldstein.

And according to this blog post, Eltnum and Sion are not the same person. In fact, Eltnum doesn't take part in the UNIB storyline and was just added 'cause they felt like it (read: for the lulz and to attract MB players).

Of course French Bread would never outright say Eltnum and Sion are the same person. They wouldn't want Type-Moon to sue them. It also sounds like they're just too lazy to make her an arcade story.

Maybe they were in the process of making new Melty Blood with HD sprites but it got canned. Probably didn't want the sprite to go to waste, so renamed the character and throw her in.

Or a tease that a new MB could be in the making and just need Type-Moon to greenlight it.

I doubt it, considering they made sure Eltnum had a different outfit from Sion in MB. They don't want Type-Moon involved, but they do want the fanbase.

Eltnum's profile got updated. It has now sample voices and images. Also, her VA is Akesaka Satomi.

And someone uploaded in niconico the story mode dialogue of Hyde, Waldstein, Linne and Carmine. Someone from youtube gladly subbed these videos. Beware, since they may contain spoilers.

The story actually seems pretty interesting. It's too bad that the choice of the terms that they used always made me cringe whenever they said it (in-birth, re-birth, insulator, amnesia etc).. this one here is from the arcade version, right?

Hilda's patch is out.

More subbed videos. This time it is the story mode dialogue of Orie, Gordeau, Merkava and Vatista. Vatista's is separated in two videos and as a bonus, the person also subbed the game's credits.
