The phantom troupe members were surprised by Uvo's disappearance.
Killua was the only one who saw their true strength.
Tailing those two was not a good idea, but I guess they had no other choice.
Gon & Killua walked straight into a trap.
They are no match to even one of those phantom troupe guys.
Being brought into their hideout means they're not gonna release them ever.

Although i do understand that the Spiders are strong,i was a little bit disappointed that they showed Killua not standing a chance against Sphinx at all...

I understand Gon,since he's inexperienced.

But Killua,i was expecting a bit more,at least while it was still 1 v 1.

His dad had a hard time with them, what makes you think Killua is gonna do any better? These kids barely learned nen. They don't even have their developed techniques yet. The PT are just older and on a totally different level.

Ya that would be the equivalent of Luffy from chap. 1 being able to take on one of the Shichibukai. It's just too early in the game, though (as illustrated by Phinx's whistle at Killua's skill) he still did a good job of trying to escape considering.

I didn't mean to see him win,but pulling an escape would make sense.

What i also mean, that usually no matter how strong the opponent is,even when it was Gon vs Hisoka,Gon still landed one punch Hisoka didn't expect, but in here it seemed so ridiculously one sided that it hurt my eyes.I'm not really arguing, just saying.

@TooPurePureBoy,Technically Luffy didn't change that much from the first chapter to the chapter he defeated Crocodile, but i get your point

@noktown: using Hisoka match against Gon was bad. Hisoka has no intention of killing Gon and was holding back remarkably.

Who knows, maybe the majority of PT can make Hisoka run for his money.

Well they have been Nen users as long as Kurapika and have more battle experience (Heavens Arena) than him yet they didn't even come close to him. I was hoping they'd at least make it out of their respective rooms.

Kurapika has abilities that revolve around Nen, he already has a hatsu...As for Gon and killua they still only learned the basics. They didn't develop any sort of technique such as Franklins finger shooting, Shalnarks phone, Kurapika's chains. etc.

The difference amongst the 3 of them, Kurapika was driven to develop his nen as quickly as possible. Gon and Killua on the other hand were only taught the basics and never really explored how to use their affinities to the max. Later on you'll get why Gon and Killua are still noobs when it comes to Nen.

Kurapica is a special case. For one he has genetics on his side, those red eyes making him a specialist capable of 100 percent in all categories of nen is something almost nobody can do. He sacrificed his nen and his life for a stronger aura. Doing so allows him the power needed to realize his imagined ability that most would not even have thought of.

Killua and Gon are different. Every decent Nen teacher they meet is going to stress training from the basics slowly because they have so much raw talent. It would be a shame to risk a precious gem by rushing the cut.

Hi, i first introduce myself. I was a lurker here since long time, and i watched the 99 e 2011 adaptation but didn't read the manga.

I didn't like the Chrollo filler in last episode for an indirect reason.

There they shows when and how Chrollo managed to know about Neon. It was occasionally.

That drives the fault of it directly to Kurapica and Dalzollene.

I mean, i already found very strange watching 7 bodyguards hired and paid to protect Neon, just going on their own in an attack mission leaving Neon with 5 dog in substitution. Their main goal was to protect Neon at all costs, that's why they were hired for. The Phantom Troupe didn't approached or even get near to Neon in any way, nor there was any evidence or suspicion that they were interested to her.

If there was a Mafia member interested in kidnapping Neon or seeking revenge he would have easily find her (like PT did) and get rid on the 5 dog.

So the decision to go all-in in an attack mission contradicting their main goal was a very very bad decision, unbelievable to me and i i think that is very strange.

I appreciated more the 99 adaptation change where Dalzollene stayed at the hotel to protect Neon (it's still 1 out of 7 but it's better then nothing).

Back to the filler, stating the moment where Chrollo learned about the Nostrade Family, gives us to know that the PT didn't know her completely before.

So it just leads the fault directly to Kurapica, with his kidnap of one PT member he put Neon in danger (still i know that he cares more his personal goals, but this fact is given), and Dalzollene that should have avoided that (i suppose that bodyguards have to be in a defensive stance, and not doing an attack mission against stronger enemies that have not threaten Neon in any way).

Without the filler, you could think the Neon was one of the Chrollo main objectives since the beginning of the auction (like i did watching the 99 adaptation).

But in the 2011, Chrollo didn't know anything about her if Kurapica didn't attract their attention, so the future events are Kurapica's fault (which i could understand he don't care about it) and Dalzollene's very very huge fault, which acted pretty stupid and against his main goal in my opinion.

What do you think?

Ya I would definitely say that Kurapica's actions put Neon in danger when she otherwise wouldn't have been ( at least from the spiders). That said I'm sure he doesn't give a shit that he put some girl (no matter how cute and ditzy) who thinks the body parts of his destroyed clan make great "collectors items" in danger.

I guess you're right about Hisoka, and i probably overestimate Killua since it's true that he was learning the "art of killing" since he was very little, but he didn't have enough experience versus skilled opponents,in addition he didn't know anything about Nen and all this aura stuff until after the Hunter Exam.

I really doubt that the Majority of PT can intimidate Hisoka though, since he was only interested in the leader of the group,he did know that he couldn't take on them all, which is why he's looking for an opening to face Chrollo alone.

Although in the latest episode it makes me wonder why he didn't make a move, since it seems like every member was present in the hideout,so he had a chance to face Chrollo.
Maybe he didn't want to look suspicious or something...

We still got to see Nobunaga cry....

From looking at the older series and the newer one, I have to say I like the changes that were made to episode 50. Nobunaga's Nen looks a lot cooler and his En is so much more subtle and powerful. I like the choice of not showing the bubble around him as he walks. It really makes it feel more powerful.

I also like the fight scene. It helps prove why Nobunaga feels the way he does about Uvo.

Pfft, I didn't feel as much emotion when Nobu cried in 2011 as I did in 1999. In 1999, they kind of built their relationship up showing that they were closer to each other than other Spider members; specifically when Nobu and Uvo argued about whether Uvo should go after the chain user. When Nobu cried in 1999, it really felt like he lost a close friend, due to how the scene was portrayed, and previous scenes they were involved in, but in 2011, it felt like their relationship wasn't any different from other Spiders until now. Other than that, both series were about on-par with one another in terms of content.

good points, i agree

2011's filler aside, i've always thought that danchou was tipped-off neon's existence because of the ryodan's first auction attack. remember the discussion with ubo in the hot air balloon? no judas within the group, very vague tip but someone important within the mafia ranks thought it was reliable. those hints would've made danchou endlessly curious, with his search ending in neon's feet

I must say, for once, 2011 trumped 1999 in terms of content. The music, scene transition all felt better in 2011 than 1999. I cringed when that Rolento-looking dude fell to the floor after Kuroro stopped his Nen(by opening the window, which I thought was well done =03). Seeing the other Spider members just running through the mafia was a visual treat too. I hope they animate the next battle with the Zoldykes as well as the 1999 version.
