Wow, the author calls her "Carnelian-sensei." Why on Earth isn't she illustrating and/or designing characters for more mainstream animes and light novels? And why isn't she taking over Miyata Sou's place for Total Eclipse if Tasuku Iizuki isn't doing so? Carnelian recently made some nice doujin art for Total Eclipse and from what she's made, it's clear that she'd be well suited to fill the position of Total Eclipse's main illustrator.

Perhaps Carnelian-san doesn't want to. There has been no real indications that Carnelian-san wants to take on more than what she has right now.

Really? I thought like most artists, Carnelian was one to strive for more fame and acclaim. And what does she have right now, aside from Schwarzesmarken? Isn't her primary game company, ROOT of Orbit-soft, on indefinite hiatus right now? I don't think she's illustrating for any anime series right now either.

Maybe she's got other stuff going on IRL and doesn't want to get overburdened.

That said, TE illustrated by Carnelian? DO WANT, but it probably won't happen because of the drastic style shift between her and Miyata.

I believe you're taking the characteristics of the few and thinking it is some majority opinion. Most artist do what they do because they like drawing, not because they're working for fame and acclaim. The fame and acclaim comes from doing what they love doing.

I like how BENIGYOKUZUI Vol. 33 was done nicely, although I never played or watched TE.

I would say that fame and acclaim pays the bills better. Besides, someone of Carnelian's caliber certainly deserves to break into the mainstream--maybe even do something like "dominate the pages of Shonen Jump" or something?

If Carnelian's art style is too far from Miyata Sou's they should still get Tasuku Iizuki back--go do a search for the latter's MuvLuv TE art and you'll see it's not too different in style, but still good.

Age hasn't been really clear on who would replace Sou besides generic "the work will be split between remaining artists" (unless I'm missing out some big portion of the news).

Since Total Eclipse is currently on hiatus, pending release of its own VN and conclusion of the anime, it's not like there's anything for her to illustrate right now beyond Schwarzemarken. Adoration is done, TDA is covered...

That said, I've seen some Carnelian art for TE. And Carnelian~sama as its illustrator gets my full approval. Alas, we won't know until TE restarts.

Back to topic at hand - Order-Nessie line falling should not have been surprising in "It's not the End of the World, but you can see if from here" kinda way.

I'm more interested in that comedy idea. Glorious glomp war between Irisdina and Beatrix? Yes please.

There appears to have been an update to the Schwarzesmarken website on Oct. 18th, with a new book cover focussing on Gretel Jeckeln. There's also a new Amazon product entry for this; perhaps someone could translate the news entry for this.

As I recall, the very first chapter of Shwarzesmarken acknowledged that the Oder-Niesse line could not hold out indefinitely: it could hold for a long time, but sooner or later it would fall.

That day just came sooner rather than later.

I can`t say that 4 book focusing on Gretel - there were many different events in four chapters and there are many characters there. One chapter really tells her story, but only one - there were more interesting events in 4 book. Remember fascinating side of half-naked Irisdine, for example

He-he, looking at vonderful and tempting MLA pilotesses, we almost forgot that male suits are sooo open too.
If male charecters-pilits weren`t so atletic and can`t boast with abdominal and pectoral muscles it would be disgusting.
But who is care about male pilots, anyway

Gretel is simply being used for cover art. Just like Total Eclipse went through with picturing its cast on the cover; so does the Schwarzemarken.

Personally, I don't like her. She has none of the class of her Stasi bosses like Beatrix.

And I vote for naked Beatrix-Irisdina-Theodore (yes, in that order) tringle next, with jealous cute Kirche/Kirke in the background.

As for the Order-Niesse line, I also remember that current NVA strategy (of first sending elite units for Laserjagd and then bombing the crap out of everything) would simply not work against Heavy Laser class. That and NVA effectively lacks the capacity to replace its losses in the long run...without factoring in that its army might very well pull a crazy ivan and try to blow up their own country for all that Socialist/Commie nonsense that keeps interfering with fighting the BETA.

In other news, I'd like to apologize because I still haven't done TSFiA vol.5 scans. I had whole free week so I was...procrastinating. Flirting with women, drinking...you know the drill. Full laziness.

(The real reason is that I was separated from my scanner).
