If this is true, just where does Kamachi get this strange idea

For some reason I think Birdway could take on Touma in hand-to-hand combat, even with the drill

Don't underestimate him! it maybe just a drill, but with enough willpower even that can pierce the heavens!

Ok back on target. Thor may still be a rival, I mean heck the guy tried destoy a city (and then some) just to say welcome home. I kinda get the feeling Touma has been getting a painful lesson about how helping people isn't always a good thing.
