If they ever re-visit this series at some point, the one thing I'd hope for would be to see a more positive next step in Yoshitsugu's story.
(Even in this extended ending for the series, she was by herself in an empty cinema.) Of course, in real life, not everyone gets to have a happy ending; but even so, I can't help but hope that, tragic as the end of her episode may have been, it would mark a turning point which may one day lead to something better than the life she had up to that point.

But that last movie is Maboroshi no Mizuumi, instead of Gen no Mizuumi, not? This movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0226998/ |

![]() Anyway, the ending was nicely done. Though, I'm gonna be honest, I kinda figured that, given the basic theme of the series was "focal character getting used to the modern world," Nobunaga would have eventually ended up staying, and most likely due to Mitsuhide. Also, the random girl appearing out of nowhere was funny, and I loved the inclusion of... Ota, was it? The guy from the first episode. Gives a nice "coming full circle" feeling to the episode. And, like others, I found it hilarious how even the extended version of Unlucky Girl wasn't enough to cover the entire cast montage. A second extended ED is fine, too.

Glad that someone was able to compile which episode references (or used as a framing device) which movie. Movie nuts will definitely get more out of it, but I can't say that the series wasn't a waste of my time.
Now, to help expand the poor, POOR, trope page. This will take a while.

Sengoku Collection was a lot better than the source material deserved. I guess that's what happens when you give a bunch of talented animators free reign. The episodes varied as much in quality as much as they varied in tone and story. I think that a lot of viewers were fooled into thinking that this would have been some sort of harem comedy and so were either turned off to begin with, or annoyed that this wasn't the case. The first few episodes are also some of the weakest, which doesn't really help things.
It's too bad since there's pretty good quality here. Episodes 18 and 21 are probably my favorites here. The first for it's beauty, and the second for it's buddy-chemistry and all the Russian-ness. One piece of solace is that you can simply watch the good episodes and skip all of the weaker ones.

To be fair the first three episodes were pretty weak. And it doesn't help that people were either frustrated that the plot wasn't kicking in.
