Just wanted to know but, remember in vol 6 or 7 how it was stated in china that there was no prohibition for alcohol depending on age in china. That's not based on a true fact, is it?

The legal drinking age in China is 18, it was introduced in 2006.

HnA vol 6 and 7 were published in 2010 though it's likely the author had this planned earlier.

Another sudden curiosity but riko mentioned in vol 3 that she kidnapped a 'few' skilled guys including kinjis bro. Any mentioning of what she did with them?

I guess more then likely she kidnapped them on orders from IU and took them the IU.

Chinese translations have started on Ch5 of latest volume, and WTF:

Kinji confirmed for lolicon. So here he was fighting Wukong (battle personality), and he asked her to put on some panties since he gets a good look at 'that place' every time she kicks him. Wukong says she's in a pubescent body (roughly 10 years old or younger) and Kinji replies he doesn't mind. His thoughts was more glad Wukong's a legal jailbait, around 2,000 years old. That in particular makes me think he's using the excuse of buying time as a excuse to flirt... especially if he just openly declared he loves her:
Kinji: "... from the day a girl is born she's a beautiful flower in the world. It's in man's nature to love a flower. That's what my older brother... or rather, older sister... rather, older brother, have told me! I love you!" (Flere821: *retch*)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to when Wukong figures out he's not entirely serious about that declaration of love and proceeds to beat him up mercilessly. She seems to have completely fallen for Kinji's HSS mode though, as for once someone sees her as a attractive person in 2,000 years. Wonder how this story would have changed if he was head-hunted into the Butei branch that specializes in seduction...

Some other stuff so far I'm not particularly impressed with in this voulume about the author's writing:

-Kinji finally had enough, told Aria to frak off when she seems to do nothing but berate him for getting lost, and does not go try and apologize after he found out she spend the night looking for him. Instead he continues to storm out, and didn't mind Riko and Shirayuki said they'll go with him instead of staying with Aria.

-Fight scene: So, Kinji was surrounded by 100 civilian girls Cao Cao used (against the rules about not involving unrelated people) and held down by them, losing his wallet, guns etc. Then all of a sudden he escapes somehow with no explanation. WTF?

Again, this volume thus far has been a huge disappointment. If this gets any worse I'm almost considering dropping this series...

Reading all of that pisses me off as much as a Kawahara NTR scene with the words "NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN" highlighted in bold for emphasis.

That was in Vol11. His subordinates are a phone call away though, as shown in Vol12 when one of them came down with a military stealth helicoptor when G3 was wounded.

IIRC, the light novels have "decent" sales. I have to wonder what those people see in Hidan no Aria.

Maybe it's the lolis? Fanservice? Whatever else that sells LNs in Japan? (I honestly don't have a clue here, just guessing)

If they are only in it for the lolis and fanservice, they should have resorted to the more-illustrated doujins.

I dunno, I just feel like poorly-crafted worlds in a story in light novel format (my standard is based on Toaru Majutsu no Index, if it's not obvious) are much better off as a manga series. It's just showing how amateur (or otherwise poorly planned) some light novel authors are.

And they are mere specks of dust compared to Kawakami, Kamachi and NisioisiN.

It has 30k+ sold per volume's opening day, I would say that's a bit more than 'decent'.

But that's not the same as being 'happy customers', what does the interweb say?

HnA fails horribly compared to plenty of manga....

It's better off as an internet fic-style web novel...

I dunno at the side of the "elevens", but 4chan has some really bad impressions of Hidan no Aria, the anime:

• "Even people with bad taste hate this."
• "Hopefully never. Oh my *expletive* god, it was so awful. gg's literal translation at least made it somewhat funny."
• "Considering the bullshit that is the novels? *Expletive* no, let it die. "
"But... traps..."
"But but stupid *expletive* time paradoxes and long dead people still living for bullshit reasons"
