Absolutely - this show is all about fun. If it was all about getting every little edge, then everyone would only run around in late-war death machines like the IS-3, Centurion or ISU-152. These AFVs would eat Tigers for breakfast, but it just wouldn't be as amusing that way.

actually, if you pay attentions to the OP, you can see the final boss flash across the screen just for a few seconds, and I think they are the final boss because they are the only tanks being shown in silhouettes only, looks like Soviet tanks.

I think the OP shown all the "enemy" tanks which will appear in the shows.

my guess is in the end the "hero" tank will be upgrade to a long barrel 75mm VI H.

if the anime has 13 episodes but the chapters there are, to my knowledge only 4 chapter out?

I am actually glad the production decided to retain (most of) the IV's original color scheme. A pink Panzer IV would have seriously challenged my sensitivities.

They all have their own tank schools. In fact, Miho originally transferred to this school because she didn't want to do tanking

Though aside from Oarai, I am not sure if other schools are on carriers.

The very last tank shown is the Tiger though, which is what I'm saying. Hence, the Tiger used by Maho is likely to be Miho's final opponent.

Actually, the battle against St. Gloriana, aka the tank battle seen in the episode 1 prologue, happens next episode. It does look like Ooarai has the strangest non-uniform tank decor of the schools, given how we get homogenous/uniform teams like St. Gloriana's olive-green Churchill with desert brown Matildas, or the all-green Shermans in the OP.

They would never use a Soviet (or a British) tank as a last boss. Japanese animators would only ever use German or American ones. And American World War II tanks are boring, so it's pretty much automatically a German one; hence Maho.

Which would make it a Japan vs. Japan final, but that's anime for you.

If a half-assed mecha nerd could name every character of his work either after a car or a cake, the consistency should be possible, especially with a series about WW tanks.
