Hello i'm new as a member but have read this thread for awhile and wanted to pitch an idea I got from ToAru NT Vol.5 and no this idea will not spoil anything

What if instead of being sent to Academy City as a child Kamijou Touma was recruited by Anglican Church or another member of the magic side?

It will be Mikoto/Thor and Touma/Misaki with a smidgen of Accelerator/WORST.
