The reason is shaky. If the memory wash is the reserved for admin, then Aqua Current is either a admin or a hacker. In addition, it would make brain Burst a dangerous backdoor. The user's health would be jeopardized. It's like downloading a freeware, and it turns out the freeware will harm the users.

You could explain AC's memory wipe as a result of her Incarnate System. Speaking of which, it was confirmed that the IS was present in the Underworld which was developed way back in SAO.

I think Accel World is 20 years after SAO not only becuz of the dates and in AW they showed history records of the first generation nerve gear and even a photo of the head gear.

And in AW they talked about the technology in between nerve gear and AW VR Neuro linkers which is the Brain Implant Chip that Kirito said either in GGO or Alicitization arc of which he said was being invented as the true successor to Nerve Gear technology. However they said the BIC was declared illegal as it allowed ppl to cheat in exams and also vulnerable to brain hacking

After watching explanation of The Seed, It's remind me off Accel World Virtual room, the room what I'm talking about is, it's from where Chiyuu invite Haru to world with many doll (if my memory right), unfortunately I forgot what episode it is.

That's all increase my faith of the two universe connections.

There is specuation that AW is a continuation of the Alicization Project. Now then, Kayaba is now digital and more confirmed he's out in the net. There's another theory that Kayaba is Green Grandee/Grandure. It came about because of GG's extensive knowledge of BB and its derivatives and his fighting style.
