I mean really every topic i found here about the subject has been closed or im pretty sure deleted. theres nothing in the rules against talking about it. so why all the fuss?

Your opening post is very much an example of why such topics are nuked, removed, or locked? What exactly do you have in mind for a discussion with your opening post that has three sentences all together?

I'll give you the chance to reply before deciding if I'm going to close this thread, or just nuke it to kingdom come.

theres alot of young plp here and the majority of hentai are just plain sickening rape/sex slaves/bondage/ and i even saw a necrophillia one time, its just doesnt belong here

there are plenty of other sites to discuss hentai at

Out of curiosity, what's there to discuss when it comes to H material? I mean, it either does its job, or it doesn't. When it comes to entertainment, pornography is about as utilitarian as it gets. It's hardly an "art".

You can have plenty of debates about how well a particular title gets the job done be it about how detailed the art was the choice of angles. Most extreme exemple is director Teruaki Murakami ,his style (which is basicly to direct a sex scene like it's an action scene from the bourne movies) is quite polarizing.
Then there's studios that have better reputation than others.So when a manga/VN adaptation is announced you do get some hype depending on the studio.

Also there's the need to keep updated what titles get licensed outside japan since that means the title will be released uncensored

And plenty of fetish discussion,yes,it's taboo but it's the internet and you're using a random screen name.
Try starting one on NTR and I'm willing to bet a flamewar will ensue .

That being said there's websites for this ,no need for it on animesuki.

Personally, I differentiate between eroges and hentai. To me, equating eroges with hentai is like equating a Harlequin romance novel with a porn magazine. One is clearly much more open to literary discussion than the other, imo.

The word for VN that can be equated to hentai manga is "nukige".
They're still considered "visual novels".

Look, it's not that hard to figure out- the reason why people don't discuss hentai here is because there is absolutely NO ONE in this ENTIRE forum that watches hentai! Zinch. Zero. Nada! Not a single soul!

Especially not me of course.

But it's not something I would discuss in a forum, whether or not I use a pseudonym. As I said, I don't really see what's there to discuss, but perhaps the artistic aspects of hentai elude me. If a forum thread is pushing it too far, maybe the OP could try a social group instead? The format caters to such niche interests, after all.

As Jan-Poo said just like there's hentai mangas there's hentai VNs,and yes there's isn't much literary discussion to be had.But they're still VNs (just like a hentai manga is still a manga) which does lead to discussion because hentai OVAs being 2 episodes long in general,that hardly gives the anime time to really cover the whole VN so you've always got people disappointed in the scene they wanted not being animated.

What makes discussing hentai nearly impossible on animesuki is the pg-13 limit when it comes to posting pictures,that's a hard rule not to break where hentai is concerned so again,my opinion is that there's other places for this that do the job quite well.
