Don't buy this for a second. They stated nothing substantial, only that they would stop promoting organizations that work to amend state constitutions to ban gay marriage.

They never once renounced funding for the anti-gay hate groups as classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

yeah, I forgot to follow up that post with the rest of the research -- basically Chick-Fil-A said what they had to (in before a barrage of employee civil lawsuits) and they haven't changed their stripes at all.

So spread the word ... besides there's really much better places to eat, run by people who don't care who you hold hands with.

Well ... four states have spoken yesterday. I'm hoping Oregon puts it up in 2014. Guess I'll start looking around to see if anyone is working on it.

Chick-Fil-A is overpriced for fast food, anyway.

The problem with SPLC is that are a hate-group.
Nothing they say can be trusted.

That ... would be an opinion ... based on ... what? Call me curious.

And the groups being donated to are certainly anti-gay ... and in my view, anti-gay doesn't seem to have rational underpinnings -- which invites the word "hate" fairly easily.

You've spewed a lot of absurd bullshit on these forums, but this is perhaps your most blatant lie ever.

Citation needed.

Eh. Most of it is because they use peanut oil to fry their chicken in rather than corn oil.

If you want delicious cheap fast food go find a dim sum or chaat joint. Or a shawarma place!

Screw crappy American fast food.

Try looking in the mirror dear, the fact that you regurgitate the propaganda the SPLC spews if proof postitive of that.

They've done commendable job in rightfully taking down armed & dangerous groups... but to go after a legitimate organization like FRC with the same fashion is a bit overreaching.

FRC is just as legitimate as CAP.

I cross-checked those stories. I will call them failures of reporting -- I'm not sure that translates to smearing the entire history of the organization. That's about like damning the entire police department for a few jerks. Historically, they've spotlighted a number of dangerous groups that clearly need that spotlight.

Yeah that's one way to say it Vexx.
Another is that they have an agenda and they twist the truth to fit it, like when they began putting out reports that the "Occupy bombers" were right-wing terrorists.

They've labeled the "Oath Keepers" terrorists when most of them are law enforcement and/or military personnel.

I understand that their work on exposing KKK groups and the like was commendable decades ago, and their work in trying to protect homosexuals is not bad, but since they began labeling people like Aaron Zelman a "Neo Nazis" their credibility is dirt.

You cannot in good faith expose actual hate groups and then lump Veterans and Gunowners in with them carte blanche. It's hateful, insensitive, and quite frankly irresponsible on their part and they have made no effort to change unless someone sues them like Aaron did in the late 1990s.

The American Thinker did a great piece on them this August.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/...oup_label.html

I can get a good idea why Syn feels they are a good organization, but if the shoe was on the other foot and the SPLC was doing to homosexuals what they do to gunowners and veterans I wonder if she'd still feel the same way about them?

Frankly, I'm a little suspicious of the Oath Keepers myself (or at least some of their members who seem to have less savory activities or ties).

But I will say I'll put the SPLC on my 'questionable' list. I really haven't paid attention to them since the '90s. Anyway, back to the thread topic. ... which is the problems generated by people who want to dictate who you hold hands with, to be mild about it.

You can't get waffle fries at a shwarma joint. Or any fries for that matter.

I like all kinds of food, dim sum and burgers. Far as I'm concerned, the best fast food in America is Five Guys (for burgers) and Chick-Fil-A (for Chicken, and waffle fries!). I haven't really had good chinese fast food (doesn't usually taste Chinese), though I love me a kebab, but I haven't usually found those in the US(Europe beats USA on Kebabs).

I'm pretty sure it's all euphemisms for various sex acts. Homosexual ones, given the context.

I'd like to say I prefer sandwiches but my official loli would smack me with a Dokuro-chan Bat if I confirmed that thought.

Ah, found the main group in Oregon working towards 2014.

http://www.basicrights.org/

The problem this state has is that back in the early 2000s a bunch of religious clowns got "definition of marriage" swaddled into the constitution and barring a judicial ruling -- its stuck there out of the hands of the legislature. It will take another citizen initiative measure to overturn it.
