Anime Podcasts?

I just got an iPhone last week, and decided to look into these strange things called "Podcasts". So far I've looked into and listened to some episodes of "Anime Pulse" and "Anime World Order"...

... Are there any podcasts that take Anime by an episode-by-episode basis, like Random Curiosity, for example?

Hm I haven't looked into the stuff myself but I'm usually listening to NPR for hours at work but it can get boring. Never bothered to look for stuff but the last ep of Anime Pulse seems interesting so I'll just grab me an mp3 of that for my Sansa

I actually proposed an animesuki podcast earlier this year, but opinions were very mixed about it.

If you build it, they will come.

I remember that proposal. Was so-so about it but liked the attempt at it

Let them come, Frostmourne hungers.

And who invited this fake Mori Summer? ^^ Just kidding. I'm still partially in doubt about what can be done with it and I'd have to refresh my podcast knowledge, but I think I could somehow pull it off. In any case, this is going off topic.

I lol'd

But yeah, an AnimeSuki podcast would be very cool. Forget those naysayers who caused the opinions to be mixed, you should've had nothing but undiluted support.

I've long wondered why the anime sub-culture seems to avoid audio/video blogging.

I'd love to be able to play, oh, Bamboo Dong's Shelf Life thoughts via a podcast (or, therossman as anime's version of zero punctuation), as an example, as it would let me multi-task, which reading simply does not allow one to do.

However, the few anime-related podcasts/video blogs I've heard/seen were either/and:

1) Infrequently done
2) Done by noobs to the anime sub-culture

I almost wonder if there's a subconscious adherence to the written word born out of how subtitles are generally central to most western anime fan's lives. Because, with the Youtube age mature beyond years, the other thing that's amazed me is how as close to perfecting the fansub process the community has gotten over the years, with everyone and their cat putting their voice on the great tubes of the internet, how little to no movement has been made in fandubs.
