Well I actually liked BRS The Game. It's installing right now anyway (mandatory, as the Famitsu review pointed it out).

EDIT: Tried a quick run. I can say it's better than I expected, the main character (not Toki/Towa) is kind of an idiot though...

EDIT2: More impressions:

While the animation is generally good (but not exceptional) the background aren't really worthwile...Especially one in the beginning is really atrocious-looking. THe main issue that I can see for now is the camera, since in narrow spaces tends to go on its own.
Story wise, it throws you in the middle explaining nothing, since it's from the main character PoV, not Toki/Towa. THe main character....well he's kind of dumb sometimes. For now Toki comes across as a more reasonable character. Music is top notch, but again, we're talking about Yuzo Koshiro here...

Ok, I played it a bit more. The battle system is definitely lifted from BRS The Game. Parrying just reduces the damage, you have to dodge to avoid taking any damage. Despite movies showing the contrary, button mashing will get you nowhere, there's need of a precise timing and tempo. Once a bar in the upper left of the screen is charged, you can use skills you assign to buttons of the controller. The only limitation is that you can fight only one enemy at once: multi enemy boss fights are done by attacking them in sequence.
You can shoot at distance or hop near and use Toki/Towa's dagger, the movement of switching range leaves you open though. Enemies can do the same, and can also a semi-stun effect that empties your skill bar.
The background are decent, I'd say. Certain static ones are really horrible, and I really can't understand why they did it.
Story-wise it throws you in the middle and only after a few tutorials starts explaining something, but apparently

The main character (default name is "Zack") alternates between serious and well, kind of idiotic behavior, and that happens even in the wedding scene all the promo material showed (I'll elaborate if someone is curious).
Overall I'm enjoying it though.

Let's be clear: the story is absurdly over the top and it's not really serious, despite the premise. I just did one dungeon and a few sidequest, but I already encountered, among others, people that call Toki "number 6" out of the blue, a club of assassins fans that run a cake shop, with their leader that constantly messes around Toki and Towa... which lead to certain amusing scenes

I'm actually torn apart on whether I should get this. I heard it was easy. I HATE, easy >=02. The lack of many keyframes in the animation makes it look choppy too. Still, I want to support the game, given what it tried to do.

Is it really that easy? My friend got some difficulty when he bought and played it... though he was complaining when he just got the game so I don't know whether the difficulty is still there in late game.

PS3 exclusive JRPG coming to the West, it's a no brainer that you should get it even if you never unpack it ^_^;;; The only possible exception would be for people who do not own a PS3, and even then I'd ask them to consider buying the game (and a console) lol.

And I could go on. As for the main character... Spoiler for Spoiler for the beginning of the game + more details: After he gets stabbed and drives the assassin he attacked him off, his first thoughts are that finally in his life he did something cool and he'll die as a man... Then a few seconds later Towa takes control saying "you should have let me handle it" before taking on the other assassins. He manages to really look surprised by the events despite the situation. He's also a semi-pervert. since he got into the drake he keeps trying to do a bath with Toki and the others...
