Since the Shin Sekai Yori forum is limited (only Mods and Admin can create new threads), this thread serves as a way to request a new thread to be created.

Please post here if you wish to request a new Shin Sekai Yori thread. Please bear in mind that we will only accept reasonable requests, we wish to maintain the focus within the forum and cut down on the noise (so no pointless threads cluttering up the place).

Don't forget that you may still post in existing threads as usual, the only restriction is that you may not create new threads within this particular forum.

Can I ask that the OPs of threads which refer to the "light novel" for the show to be changed to just say "novel"? There are no pictures in the novel - it's "normal" fantasy literature, as distinct from light novels.

The manga is official, and from the little I have read of the novel, captures the original mood much better then the anime... unfortunately, because of 3 pages it attracted too many haters

Except, of course, the part where it ignores most of what is actually interesting in the novel and inserts stuff that never happened in the book, screws with characterization, adds lots of gratuituous hot two girl action just for the sake of it... anything else?

(Also: only hot two girl action. The part with Satoru and Saki? never happens in the manga. The whole thing with Satoru and Shun? I haven't seen the relevant chapter and I'm not interested enough to find out, but I'll eat my favorite cap if it is even implied, let alone shown. Even though it's kinda-sorta very important.)

If you like the manga better for whatever reason that's cool, but it's not a faithful adaptation at all. And while I say there are adaptations that can capture the mood of the original even if they're not very faithful adaptations, this manga? is not one of them.
