Well according to track six in which Caro mentions that Vivio placed in a high rank in the tournament, and Einhart is also mentioned in the same track. So that means that it takes place sometime between Vivid after the tournament and before Force begins.
Stern: I believe Amitie and Kyrie has explained this to you once before. The flow of time diverges and converges at many different points, it not just one orderly path.
Nanoha: Yeah.
Stern: For you, the great turning point was during the Book of Darkness Incident where the Master of the Book of Darkness’s Unison Device, Reinforce Eins fate to be soon destroyed after the Incident. The second was whether you and the others met us.

Dearche: I see… And the Knights? Are they still pointlessly living? (Alt: living on in vain?)
Hayate: Yeah, everyone’s doing well. There was a big incident and they got injured but right now everyone’s in great spirits and by my side still.
Dearche: Good then.
Hayate: Were you worried?
Dearche: You speak nonsense! We intended in the future to personally defeat you with Our Darkness… If you died pointlessly at the hands of others, it would have been disappointing/galling to Us.
Hayate: Aha, thanks. We’re all doing fine. And what about you? How is it on Eltria?
Dearche: Amita and peach head is the same as always. Yuri is in good health. She’s become much more cheerful.

At the TSAB I joined the Armed Forces, Fate joined headquarters (bad translation: Japanese ‘ho-mu’, I’m assuming it’s HQ) and Hayate joined the bureaucratic/Government services (alt trans: civil service)
Stern: Yes…
Nanoha: And I became a Tactical Combat Instructor Corps. Fate-chan became an Enforcer and Hayate-chan now has her own unit.
Stern: And was… that the path you wished to take?
Nanoha: There were plenty of setbacks and frustrations, but I’d like to believe everyone is achieving their dreams. Those people you just met are our juniors at work.
Stern: I see…
Levi: Wow? So Fate rescued you and you then got adopted by her.
Erio: Well, if you want put it simply, yes.
Vivio: To those two, Fate-mama is both a mother and older sister. Erio and Caro are members of the TSAB too. They’re an impressive and powerful Knight and Mage.

Stern: I believe Amitie and Kyrie has explained this to you once before. The flow of time diverges and converges at many different points, it not just one orderly path.
Nanoha: Yeah.
Stern: For you, the great turning point was during the Book of Darkness Incident where the Master of the Book of Darkness’s Unison Device, Reinforce Eins fate to be soon destroyed after the Incident. The second was whether you and the others met us.
Nanoha: With Stern and everyone else?
Stern: Yes, a few days ago we experienced a small dimensional disturbance and another ‘you’ before we met appeared.
Nanoha: Us?
Stern: You and Fate. Though your battle clothes were different, there was no doubt, even if the memories were not recovered/the same, that they were another alternative dimensional ‘you’.
Nanoha: I see, so that means there many versions of ‘us’ out there…
Stern: Yes. What we worried about most about that encounter was whether or not we radically affected your future. Whether that encounter or those remaining memories ruined a part of your future. It is not a good thing to meet another you/a copy of yourself, especially if it’s a darker reflection of yourself. (bad translation)
Nanoha: Ah… Um… You see, I’m not really all too knowledgeable with all the sci-fi talk but even if it was a world where we had never met Stern and the others, I’m sure it would have ended up the same as we are now.
Stern: Same as now?
Nanoha: Growing up while using magic, together with everyone and walking our own paths.
Stern: And.
Nanoha: I only just now remember about meeting Stern. Yet meeting Vivio after so much has happened, I finally became her mother and she became my daughter. (bad translation)
Stern: Yes I could tell right away.
Nanoha: I think to myself that my meeting with Amitie and everyone helped influence that. I don’t regard my meeting with Stern and the others as a bad memory or a terrible influence. But rather a wonderful memory with a happy ending.
Stern: Oh?
Nanoha: Though we parted with the memories sealed, making it a somewhat bitter happy ending, I could still vaguely recall that time and it made me happy. The girl who gave everything she could for her beloved older sister. The kind and gentle girl with the lovely blond hair we rescued. The three girls who looked a bit like us and forged bonds with. They’re all good memories, there’s no way it could it was a bad thing.
Stern: I’m glad to hear you say that…
Nanoha: And besides, I think I’ve said this before. It’s not as if you three are our copy or anything. In the beginning we had some misunderstanding and we did fight each other rather seriously, but in the end we fought together.

Dearche: Though it is far from perfect, it is powerful enough to lay waste to an entire planet. Even if a powerful attack was to strike it, it is hard to imagine that it would utterly be annihilated without leaving a single trace.
Hayate: That battle with Yuri was an incredibly hard fight.

Dearche: It appears so.
Stern: Well then, let us return home.
Dearche: Yes, I’m sure Yuri and the sisters are worried about us.
Stern: We’re going now Levi.

Levi: I know Eltria’s our home and all now… but it was pretty fun over there too!

I thought it'd be best to announce it in this thread, I've begun a small translation project of the Nanoha Light Novel that I've had in my possession for the last couple of years.
Right now I'm struggling just with the summary on the very back.... which gives you a clue how utterly hard it is to translate it but hey, gotta start some time.
