The green onion joke made me laugh way too hard. I never expected these words to come out of Alisa's mouth. Where did she even get that idea anyway? Is sticking green onion up your butt an actual thing?

Spoiler for OniAi 10 - One of the Boys/One of the Girls:

An episode focusing on Gin and Arashi, and continuing directly off of the last one. Perhaps the thing that separates this show from others is that I'm never sure when the opening is going to begin. In this case, it didn't start rolling until halfway through the episode. Gin's backstory is more or less as we'd expect - Akito has been friends with her for a long time, but always saw her as a guy friend. Kinda like Yozora and Kodaka, I suppose.

Also, even when he was young, Akito apparently had a harem form around him, with a pretty clear collection of archetypes. Including "overdeveloped schoolgirl". No wonder Gin felt kind of left out, if she had to compete with things like that. It was a little more mellow and heartwarming than usual for this series - but still a nice watch.

For the second half, the winner of the impromptu nursing competition is... Arashi. Who transforms from one kind of KitaEri character to another kind of KitaEri character, and reveals her Tyrant's Eye to Akito. I've never thought Arashi is as bad as she claims to be. Like Ana, she clearly just enjoys messing with people. And can turn up the Yamato Nadeshiko vibes something fierce.

This series has been kind of overlooked, but I find it a nice, quirky entry in its genre. Though there's still two more episodes to go.

Spoiler for Episode 10:

As Ginbei continues to explore her flashback towards the sick Akito, the latter finally gets healed the next day. However, he's suddenly gets involved in a rather quick conversation with Arashi, but says something that the other girls cannot understand. Furthermore, Akiko gets more continually jealous than before. The new episode feel rather short, but it seemed more serious than I thought, although it's still very lighthearted and offer some jokes. Ginbei's flashback seemed rather heartwarming (especially the fight scene), but the moment child Akito is undressing make it hilarious. I especially love Arashi wearing a kimono and behave in a gentle yamato nadeshiko manner, and I feel rather sad for her getting the least amount of character development. Let's not forget that the editor is sick as well. Looks like the next episode will focuses on Ana once more, but let's see if there's something subtly dramatic that will happen as well.

Kidou Ibuki (Akiko) has appeared as a side character in another current show: Aikatsu. She plays Himuro Asami, the black-haired girl who appears in a sequence starting around 8:20 of episode 9 in that enjoyable young-shoujo show about aspiring idols. The star of that show is Morohoshi Sumire, the 13-year-old who plays Arisa in OniAi.

This makes 15-year-old Kidou-san's third anime role. Her character and voice are quite different from what they are here -- although you can hear something that tells you it's her. The brief sequence convinces me even more that she has a big future as a seiyuu.

The co-star (blue hair) in that show is played by another up-and-comer, 19-year-old Tadokoro Azusa. She won the 2011 national seiyuu audition contest that Kidou-san was a disappointed runner-up in. Both she and Kidou-san are now with the Hori-Pro agency, which sponsored the contest.

Another good episode for Ginbei. She's been winning me over lately. The end of the flashback where Akito finally discovered she was a girl was hilarious.

Arashi pleasantly surprised me this week. I thought she'd use the opportunity to sneak into Akito's bed naked or something but she actually nursed him properly. Futhermore, when the two were left alone in the house, she didn't even attempt to rape him and instead acted like a Yamato Nadeshiko. That was very unexpected. I

Next week is an Ana episode. Very much looking forward to it.

Now that we know what kind of past Akito and Gin have together, I don't blame Akito not building any romantic feelings towards her at all. I mean seriously, I don't dislike Gin how she is now but, she was such a snob as a child. Who knows how long it took for her to dis-spell that characteristic about her, not to mention that Akito most likely witnessed most of it.

I supported the Ginbei ship, largely because the girl seemed to be the sanest of the lot, the most reasonable, and the most natural with Akito.

Well, until this episode, but it shows how much Ginbei has grown.

I wonder how Ginbei would have been like with out Akito. Then again, girls like Anastatia, had they met Akito when they were young probably would also have ended up quite differently.

As for Arashi: I'd imagine that her Yamato Nandeshiko personality is her public persona, while her wild side is kept only for those she considers friends.

Not that it would have changed my mind, but they certainly didn't do much to try to explain/justify Gin's attitude towards making friends. I'm sure I could guess it, after all there's only so many reasons they could use, but regardless- nothing has changed my stance towards Gin; friendzoned for life

And that's before I even know about her "Yamato Nadeshiko Mode" which is pretty refreshing compared to all the over-the-top-ness in this show.
