Could they brainwash her? For one thing Mana has been in their "care" for years, they probably have a lot of levers to use on her. In comparison Tohka isn't even really human, there's also the fact that the more stressed she is the more of her power returns. I can just imagine them trying to test stuff on her and her power coming back at full capacity. Massacre would put it lightly.

I havent read the 6th volume but if the wiki is to be believed...

Mana is not brainwashed, she was taken by Ratatosk and she seems to know the truth about DEM now so she decided to fights DEM and currently works for Ratatosk, the suit she wears is actually made by Ratatosk

But maybe i was wrong, the wiki never states that she discovers the truth but since she now works for Ratatosk that knows about the truth of DEM technology then it is very likely that she now knows about it. Anyway, the wiki mentions that she fights to help Origami in protecting Shidou from DEM
