Wait, was it just me or did the monk in the beginning (the one who passed on the beads/DNA to the current Myou) sound a lot like Inari from the first short? Because that would make everything even more complicated, I swear each episode clears a few things up and makes things a bit more complicated, really wish they could do a full series where everything is explained from beginning to end. ><

He's named after the real life Buddhist monk. The quotes at the beginning of the episode are from the real Myōe (the Wikipedia article mentions his philosophy of "as appropriate").

Last episode aired. That was sure a beautiful episode which introduces important details but it's not clear and there's still so much to show and explain

I assuming the monk is from Real world (where koto come from) he then created mirror Kyoto along with black rabbit and it's denizen.
