hmm.... I manage to catch up finally.... (after few years leaving this manga in on-hold list)

let's do some comment for the characters :

Mami : her first appearance is annoying... she will do everything to gain Shigure and had all characteristics to become a yandere... a perfect bully with false mask...
but during the story, she's actually the one who get matured a lot... it's quite sad that she felt many uncertain emotions right now toward Akira... but she's making sure to be one of the best character right now... should hope the best for her

Akira : this guy is still the same.... from the start until recent time, he's still act immature... He should express lots of gratitude to Yukina (protecting him during childhood) and to Mami (helping him a lot to win against Shigure). Although he seems win right now, Akira won't be able to do anything different because he's still a pawn under Yukina. He should quit doing that lustful things or manga readers will leave this manga

Shigure : poor boy... why should he has that tsundere attitude..

well, he's matured a lot too and has left that false mask... but... yeah! he's just unlucky about many things... He has good intention but can't convey it to Yukina in proper way... don't get depressed, dude... You've changed so much since the beginning of the story

Yukina : she's still my favorite character though... it's quite funny that she is still so selfish.. can't blame her because of her lack of experience about love..
the recent chapter is my favorite one.. She's trying to understand what Count's feeling and she actually can do it! too bad she didn't do it earlier...
yeah... you've done something you can't undone...

looking forward for next chapters... I'm going to read this regularly from now on..
honestly, I think the story will be better if we move the setting to highschool time..

Yes, his character growth is nothing short of amazing~much better than other tsundere boys in manga, he is clearly one cut from the finest cloth!
like Takuto Kira...who is still number 1.

I remember from the other forums that they still adore Akira from what happened in this chapter. I actually enjoyed seeing him crying. What a crybaby

I don't think so. I'm 85% certain that Hisame is going to play a MAJOR role in AkiraxMami.

Mami wants to be "protected" from him, afterall and she asked AKIRA to do it.

That didn't even occur to me. But I don't think it'll happen. She has learned that she can't just use people however she pleases.

His personality really fits the Count though.. with his mean-streak and all that. I do hope that it won't happen because that'll just degrade her character even further.

^Not really. The Count is also a major charmer (like Shigure since he's based on him). I don't get that vibe from Hisame. He feels like just a jerk. :/

From the fact that Mami was scared of him when he first appeared in chapter 40, the fact that his own brother(Shigure) referred to him as "HE" when speaking to Mami about him and warned Mami to stay away from his house because "HE" would be, as well as Maimi asking Akira to protect her from him, and from the way he spoke to Yukina are all signs that he is not a good guy.

It fits the way the story progressed since the count MIGHT be becoming a jerk after what happened to his character in the story (assuming that until some point, the event that happened in the novel is similar as their real life counterpart). IIRC, count isn't a good guy either at the beginning of her novel and tried to use the ice queen.

I don't know.. I have this nagging feeling that Yukina will somehow use him for her novel

I hope this won't happen though..

Hisame will fall in love with Yukina. Yukina will insert Count's evil twin into her novel and the Ice Quuen going to convert him as well.
