I've seen Spice & Wolf and Legend of Legendary Heroes(not the best fitting example of journey and romance, but I liked the setting of traveling boy and girl)

Katanagatari fits I suppose. Not my favorite anime though (too much talking lol).

I can't think of any anime that fit well, but allison to lillia is somewhat like that (a bit of traveling, less romance).

RAVE (manga only), Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle, Elemental Gelade, Zoids, Eureka Seven, and Scrapped Princess.

Does space adventure count? If so I'd like to add Vandread, Outlaw Star, and Crest of the Stars

how come i never heard of this anime before,

anyway, so ur looking for adventure with romance, this is a hard one, since not much anime have adventure and romance together.

Pandora Hearts is traveling on a journey and it has some romance to it.

Seconding Vandread. It really does fit... Once enemies now allies, then journeying back home and discovering love....
