Looking for a GOOD fighting and romance anime.
Hi, I'm looking for a good fighting and romance anime. If you're wanting to know what sort of anime I'm looking for, I've really liked: Sword Art Online, Rosario + Vampire, Code Geass, Angel Beats, Clannad, but that isn't a fighting anime,, and Highschool DxD, though I prefer animes that don't have naked scenes. (Please don't say 'Elfen lied'. The plot was good, but ugh....)
__________________________________________________ ______________________ OK, Here's a list of anime that was recommended here that I watched and liked. (If you just post random names, I probably won't watch it. If you post a lot of random names and I do decide to go through your post, I'll probably only watch all of it if they all sucked and I was hoping that I'd find one good or if you posted a good one so I'm hoping there will be other good ones. Moral of the previous sentence: Quality, not quantity, and info, not shit. Names and reccomenders: Eureka Seven - Eragon Inuyasha - Kitten320 (I've already seen it, so it doesn't really count, but I did like it, and it WAS recommended). I checked out Eureka Seven first, because the name intrigued me. Awesome first Ep. :3 thanks. As for the Highschool DxD thing, just because I watched it and liked it doesn't mean I can't want an anime without naked scenes. You never know, next time I may ask for a good hentai. I like a variety, so each time I pick a different genre, or if I liked a certain genre, I look for another anime that is similar. :P Last edited by xland44; 2013-01-10 at 15:37. |

I'd recommend Full Metal Panic if you can take a little mecha in the mix. Its set in an alternate reality where the cold war is still ongoing, and follows the exploits of a socially inept child guerrilla fighter turned mercenary counter-terrorist as he goes undercover to protect a short tempered Japanese high school girl without her knowledge... or permission.

Combat and romance...
School Rumble. Full Metal Panic. Gad Guard. Macross, basically any of them. Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team, and maybe even G Gundam. Seikai no Monshou/Senki. Tales of the Abyss. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Fate Stay/Night and the others of the series. Those are all action animes that have a romance element to them. I tried to stick to anime that had action, and a clear romance plot.

Baccano! if you don't mind a bit more brutal action.
Berserk - again mores serious series, romance develops in later half though towards the end. Busou Renkin Fate/Stay Night Ga-Rei Zero, another more bloody action series but with interesting plot. Though series focus more on a friendship but main couple relationship does play a role in what is to happen. Hakuouki - romance develops in second season or more like 3rd if you watch prequel first. I would actually start with prequel but if romance is a must then with original 1st season. Inuyasha - longer lasting series with nice action and romance. Katanagatari - if you don't mind lots of talking. Mai HiME - lots of action and romance, highly recommended. Does have several fan service shots in first half but in comparison to R + V anime, it is nothing. Otome Youkai Zakuro - something more lighthearted. Romeo x Juliet - well that's a given. Senjou no Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles - romance develops in later half, war orientated series. Seirei no Moribito - these are different. They are not romance orientated though main female and male have very close relation and it isn't hard to picture them as a married couple. The reason why I'm suggesting it is because of it's uniqueness, it isn't like most anime series out there. It has interesting plot with depth as well as nice character development for main hero. Series are about a bodyguard Balsa who was entrusted to protect young prince who is hunted down by his own father because an evil spirit has possessed him. Series focus on their journey as well as many other things. Balsa, Tanda and Chagum start to give a massive family vibe later on so yeh do try.

For some reason I thought you were looking for school focused animes with fighting and romance... maybe I got this request thread mixed up with one of the other ones. Anyhow, I'm still going to recommend Full Metal Panic, but now I'm going to add Macross Frontier (which I probably would have eventually added anyway). It's a sequel, but its a sequel that's pretty accessible to newcomers (its how I got into Macross).

Woah, this will take some time watching..... As for berserk, I watched the first few episodes, and disliked it. I don't like samurai-like anime. :/
I'll flip a coin and decide between "Maji de Watashi ni koishinasai!" and "Seto no Hanayome." Also, Eureka Seven was awesome. Thanks to the person who gave me the name of it (Which I will soon go and check his name, as I forgot it. :P) |

Hidan no Aria: It's an action/romance title with some ecchi scene from time to time (No full nudity like Highschool DxD). It's about a guy, who is a butei (some sort of student/special-agent), who gets to work with a female colleague after she saves his life. The first episode should be enough to drag you in. The anime is just an adaption of the novel, which still continues with other volumes. The anime puts a kind of ending but you can continue the story and read the novels to know some more. Here's some pic of Aria and the cast Spoiler for pics:
Btw, the novel develops the story a whole LOT. |
