As far as this series is concerned, yes. As far as reality was concerned, since he wasn't breathing and presumably his heart wasn't beating... well they really only had a few minutes before cell-death anyway so his body was probably dead beyond hope of revival before they reached the lab, or at least not long after.

Mahou Shoujo transformation that reminds me of Nanoha? This show is off to a good start. Also never liked Strike Witches so this show is looking promising to me how it's not like Strike Witches.

As for Sky Girls, I consider them pilots more than anything, so I think they're a bit different here. But hey, girls flying through the air still gets me pumped up for more

There's a brief shot in the OP of several tanks lined up on a curved bit of road, all firing to the side, which is probably the (insert not small number here) time I've seen that shot referenced since Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Ah I'm so slow. Spoiler for Operation Start: The words used to start the DOCKING was "Operation! Vivid Blue!", and at the end "Vivid Blue, Operation!". We can thus assume that the combined Aoi/Akane being was called "Vivid Blue". Since the title of the anime is "Vivid Red Operation", we can actually assume that there'll be another combined docking form, this time with Akane as the dominant figure, a "Vivid Red". If true, that should mean that there'll also be a "Vivid Yellow" and "Vivid Green" combination forms using Himawari and Wakaba, basically the Gekiryujin to Akane and Aoi's Chouryujin. So will there be other combination forms from different combinations of the girls resulting in different Vivid colors too?
